Pretty much once you realize it's a bear with a fish, you can't see anything else.

Don't be silly. A fish couldn't pull a bear through the water like that.

They act like there's no such thing as an Asian elephant. Or that one couldn't wander up thataways.

I just had to look but I must say that even tho the shape is quite bear-with-fish shaped it doesn't move like a bear, it moves like an elephant.

Even if it's a bear, it's a big f*cking bear.

...or at least a big f*cking fish.

/Or maybe it's a small f*cking bear that's trapped on the lens.

As someone pointed out in the other thread, why would an elephant cross the river with its trunk in the water?

being a cryptozoologist must be the saddest profession. the awkward thanksgivings, knowing your parents aren't proud of you. the parade of painful dates that all seem to end quickly after you explain your profession. the "kick me" signs the actual zoologists put on your back when you aren't looking. it just makes me depressed thinking about it

It always best to cut off filming after only a few seconds and never follow the creature, even at a great distance, because otherwise it would just look fake.

I want to believe. . . That's really the problem with all of these kinds of things. I get swept up in the romance of the possibility, the incredible discovery it would represent, how freaking cool it would be to eat a nice fresh mammoth steak. . . It really just represents a huge amount of bias pushing me towards the truth I want as opposed to the truth that a grainy, poorly-shot video of a bear with a fish represents (most likely). Even in Siberia, there would have been reports of huge hairy elephant populations- at least once or twice in the last several thousand years.

THIS!

If you were really looking at a mammoth you would film till the damn battery in your camera died or you ran out of memory.

They're just like elephants. Male's had tusks, females and young had none.

\Regardless, Im pretty sure its a russian woman.

Awesome! There's gonna be a film with woolly mammoths in it! 10000 BC was kinda cool but I still reckon hollywood can do better.

Amazing that the animal moving across the river doesn't cause any disturbance of its own in the rushing water. All I see is the river reacting to the stationary rocks beneath the surface. You'd think the upriver side would have water sloshing upward on the side of the animal... were it not super imposed into the shot. The size of the chop on the surface of the water also does not seem to match up with something elephant-sized.

I like that the water around and behind it seems to be in clearer focus that the subject itself.
