If it makes you feel any better, in my town(about 30 miles from Jackson), the police chiefs son was arrested with heroin, and the original judge that was going to hear the case disqualified herself because she's friends with the kids parents.

If Michigan is anything like the Va judicial system, he's screwed. He may squeak by on criminal charges, but the state bar can permanently revoke his ability to practice law without a guilty charge. This stuff is actually taken very seriously.

Wow, someone REALLY had it in for this judge. A political opponent? (Are judges elected in MI?) I'm all for corrupt judges getting punished in proportion to their crimes... but becoming a felon and time in PMTIA prison for dismissing traffic tickets? This is what fines, censures, and/or firings were made for. And he was already stuck on traffic court anyway, pretty much the lowliest courtroom in the building.

I'd understand if he took money, sex, etc, but many traffic tickets are already dismissed or vastly reduced at arraignment anyway, it's small fry.
