Maps of far-future or distant-past continents that show present-day lakes annoy me.

Do not question the LORD'S work. If HE wishes to push our continents together, I shall praise HIM in his wisdom.

...and according to these same scientists, South America will become a mirror image of itself? And isn't the Indian subcontinent moving toward Asia, not away?

SEE?! SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PULL ALL THE FOSSIL FUELS THAT WERE HOLDING THE CONTINENTS TOGETHER OUT OF THE GROUND?!? IT'S ALL OUR FAULT!!1!

The point is that it cycles. They ebb and flow, as they float along on top of the magma and react to the magnetic fields. Its like a giant lava lamp.

Spyder_Monkey: And isn't the Indian subcontinent moving toward Asia, not away?

You didn't watch the whole thing. It's been moving back and forth, just like my bowels after a good Indian meal.

Asia makes toys

Santa delivers the toys

to kids in America

It's just a shortening of the chain between supply and demand.

FTA Geologists believe that, over billions of years, these shifting plates have driven the continents together periodically...

Those crazy geologists and their beliefs.

ZAZ: Maps of far-future or distant-past continents that show present-day lakes annoy me.

That's bad, but what really drives me nuts is when they show animations of continental drift and they preserve the coastline to look exactly like it does today, and just the pieces move around. I saw one thing on one of the history channels that showed Florida exactly like it is now, and it actually slid all over the place like it was being cut out of photoshop.

Makh: It's because they find us so subductive.

Subductive? Like Carmen?

"Act 1. Carmen is a cigar-makeress from a tabago factory who loves with Don Jose of the mounting guard. Carmen takes a flower from her corsets and lances it to Don Jose (Duet: 'Talk me of my mother'). There is a noise inside the tabago factory and the revolting cigar-makeresses burst into the stage. Carmen is arrested and Don Jose is ordered to mounting guard her but Carmen subduces him and he lets her escape.

[omitting two non-subductive acts. Google is your friend.]

"Act 4. A place in Seville. Procession of balls-fighters, the roaring of the balls is heard in the arena. Escamillio enters (Aria and chorus: 'Toreador, toreador, all hail the balls of a Toreador'). Enter Don Jose (Aria: 'I do not threaten, I besooch you') but Carmen repels him wants to join with Escamillio now chaired by the crowd. Don Jose stabbs her (Aria: 'Oh rupture, rupture, you may arrest me, I did kill her') he sings 'Oh my beautiful Carmen, my subductive Carmen.'"

/yes, I know Subduction. This was funnier.
