I am sitting in a bar in Lakewood with a cousin of hers so I am getting a kick out of this.

The dog's owner Michael Robinson told 7NEWS his 3½-year-old Dogo Argentino named Gladiator Maximus ("Max" for short) chased a coyote across the reservoir and both fell into the icy water about 5 p.m.

So I'm guessing she was not entertained....

LOL, holy shiat.

"You shut up about my penis! I heard it was a good size! And I have a big dog named Gladiator Maximus! And I'm saving up for a Humvee that is going to be named Optimus Prime! You'll see!

That's not my dog.

Denver Health issued a statement that Dyer was in fair condition in the Emergency Department and was being evaluated by the trauma team.

It is not often that a dog bite results in a Dyer emergency.

She made just about every mistake she could.

Putting face close to the face of an unfamiliar dog - check
Not pulling back when the dog gave warning - check

She was also probably smiling (showing her teeth) which the dog saw as a sign of aggression.

1. Interview traumatized dog, putting your face right in his when he has no idea who you are
2. ??????????
3. Profit from being a moran!!!!1!1!

And it's the dog and owner who get punished.

Well, having your face bitten off is a bit a punishment, too. But still.

FTFY. But, yeah--how dumb do you have to be? At least the dog's only under observation & they didn't kill it outright to test the brain for rabies.

Cujo was on last night or the night before and I started watching it late at night with my dog on the bed. I turned the TV off before she got any ideas.

I would never, ever lock eyes with:
1: an unfamiliar dog
2: anywhere close to its face
3: a pit bull under any circumstances (nor a rottie, doberman, chow, or any police dog ever ever ever)

Reporter is obviously not a dog owner, or owns one of those rodents like yorkies that masquerade as dogs.

/I own a fairly huge Shiloh Shepherd and a very huge GSD

Bernese? You should be fine. Now if you owned a Burmese Mountain Dog, you've got to be careful. They like to climb trees (new window) and pounce on strangers.

She behaved foolishly, but the handler should have warned her immediately to back off and pulled the dog back when the dog bared his teeth. Everyone's at fault but the dog, imho.

That's why whenever I meet an unfamiliar dog I ferociously kick it to establish dominance. And I never stoop down to them; I stand upright cuz I'm a human and it's a farking dog.

Oh yes. That was simply a discipline strike. She leaned in towards the dog's face while making eye contact. In the dog world that's saying "I'm your boss". The pit obviously did not agree, and reminded her that he considered himself to be dominant.

If she'd come in low, under his muzzle, and began licking him on the bottom jaw, he'd have had no problem at all with her. Or, she simply could have kept her goddamn face away from his. Either way works.

What about if she came in from behind and sniffed his butt first? No mounting, just sniffing. My dog does that to other dogs all the time and they seem to be OK with him. I've never tried it though.

I've had 2 Mastiff. Best dogs ever.
