Later, one of the police officers discovers the dash cam on the highway patrol cruiser, and is heard mentioning it to a colleague.
'It's on camera,' he says.
The other replies: 'They don't know you. I wouldn't worry about it.'
Authorities said they will not release the names of the officers involved in the incident.

Farking cover-up. What a bunch of pieces of shiat.

Need to teach these thugs a lesson.

I salute the courageous, unselfish officers who risked their lives armed with nothing more than batons, tasers, handuns, body armor and the unlimited power of the state to bring that dangerous terrorist to heel. My god, just imagine what would have happened if he were allowed to go about his business that day...

Diabetics often sound and act like they are drunk when they go into insulin shock. It is important that the general public and public officials, including the police, be aware of this and other causes of misunderstanding and uninformed reactions.

This sort of thing happens all the time--people think a diabetic who is having an episode is drunk. It's understandable but preventable.

There's also a tragic amount of ignorance an misinformation about mental illness, epilepsy, autism, disabilities, etc.

Educate yourself on the symptoms and treatment of common afflictions such as stroke, diabetes, epilepsy, shock, etc. It may save a life or a misunderstanding.

Let each of these odd stories be a teaching moment and Fark.com can make the world a better, safer, less funny place.

What a bunch of retards.

Years ago I saw a traffic stop turn into a fracas when a man went into a seizure and started flailing around. The officer interpreted it as resisting arrest and did the bare minimum to subdue him. After EMS arrived and his condition was noted by the paramedics the officer immediately contacted his supervisor, removed himself from the scene and turned himself in for discipline. He even went to the hospital and apologized for what happened. There was no cover up and no one lied to save face.

That's how you own up to a mistake as a law enforcement officer.

Disgraceful. At least they didn't shoot to kill this time.

No kidding. They committed assault and they should all be in jail.

That guy is lucky he didn't get shot. Not because he deserved it, but because it seems like thats how these things go sometimes.

No. That first officer who braced himself, with weapon drawn, on the door and then proceeded to keep his pistol aimed at the victim while another officer moved into his field of fire also acted inappropriately. The five other idiots who then dog piled a non-compliant suspect in what can only be described as an excessive use of force also deserve discipline. That was in no way a professional take down.

As a Diabetic I am not shocked by the officers thinking the person is resisting. They obviously should know better though. Also should be trained how to handle that type of situation. You do not try to subdue a Diabetic in shock. That just will never end well. We tend to get very confused and can turn quiet unruly because we are confused and have no idea of what is going on.

/as a diabetic he should not have been driving.
//knows when blood sugar is low and stops and takes something to raise it.
///waits until bs is better to resume driving.

Imagine, if you would, the 'jock cliche' that you ran into in High School.

Now imagine, if you would, that after High School these jocks have no where to go... so they go into policing, in order to live out their fantasy of bullying people the rest of their lives.

However... All cops pretty much start out as 'that guy' that wants to do good. THEN they see what the public is actually like and give up on humanity pretty much. Which results in what happened above... They just don't care about people as a whole anymore. The guy walking across the street in the wrong place is just as idiotic/dangerous as the man they busted up last week for selling crack.

It's the way policing works now :(

Police are the movie theater ushers of the real world. Imagine if you gave movie theater ushers the power to slap someone upside the head and get away with it. They'd abuse the shiat out of it too.

....and this is where not only the dash-cam video comes in, but also pissed off local bloggers and newshounds with cell phone cameras. Taking "film" out of a camera, or hell even a micro card, won't save their ass when SEND is pressed and it's all over the internet before the cops have time to finish the beat down.

Hey hey hey, now. Hey. Let's all calm down here. They HAD to kick that semi-conscious man in the head half a dozen times. Don't you see? It was for OFFICER SAFETY! They just want to go home safe after their shift. As long as it's for officer safety. Because no one else deserves safety as much as an officer does! In fact, I think they should all be able to work from home. Better yet, let's build special locked vaults inside bunkers for them to work from just to keep them as safe as is humanly possible at all times! We don't want any of them to get a boo-boo from those violently dangerous unconscious diabetics!

I'm surprised the dash cam footage still exists. I ordered my own dash cam the other day, mostly in case I can catch some good youtube footage, but also just in case a situation like this arises and the cops "lose" the video that would save my ass in court.

No, that's how you get the shiat sued out of you by anyone involved for an insane amount. You cannot do this in a litigious society that we live in. It's also how you get to drop any legal and union protection you had as a police officer in the incident, since you've now gone around the chain of command and established policy and procedure of the department.

Chances are, he had someone with stars on their lapel telling him to go apologize.

One suspect, three officers. One each for the legs, arms and head. If three "highly trained and competent" police officers are unable to subdue one man in diabetic shock then the police agency has failed in maintaining proper training standards and should be sanctioned for allowing drooling retards to remain on the force.

so let me get this straight...the cops beat the everliving shiat out of this guy...and forget to get rid of the footage? They didnt even plant any crack on the guy or give one of the cops a black eye to play the "Assaulting an Officer" charge? That's some sloppy work there, Lou...

but in all seriousness, this is disgusting... i mean in his disoriented and almost comatose diabetic state, he was srsly resisting so hard that it took 7 cops beating his ass to subdue? they teach the head stomp maneuver at the academy?

I watched the video, the headline is sensationalist in nature.

The LV PD clearly could use a brush up on understand different types of conditions that the citizens could have, this was misdiagnosed as intoxication so you cannot be too vigilant in getting someone in a moving vehicle off the road, kudos for LEO's on that call.

The force used was somewhat heavy handed however, given the context I think things could have been a lot worse. Cops are going to back each other up just like you guys do for your fellow burger flipper and AOL call centre biatch, no need to pretend like your really upset about something you are guilty of too.
