I have an unpleasant story about no-doz. It involves a lot of vomit. Apparently, you can OD on caffeine, at least that's what the paramedics told me.

But on-topic, no. I'll stick to my coffee. Or chocolate covered coffee beans. Or coffee ice cream. Or coffee ice cream with chocolate covered coffee beans mixed in....oh, right, caffeine overdose.

timujin: oh dear god no. I ordered one of these a while back (they were free with free shipping) and tried it one night when I was feeling a little tired. It was like someone thought that powdered caffeine wasn't bitter enough on its own, so they added an extremely unpleasant layer of lime rind on top of it. It may have been the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted.

Yeah, I got a couple of the free ones they were sending out. The stuff tasted terrible and bitter with that slight lemon/limey taste to it. And the aftertaste persisted for a good long time. Though the quick hit of caffeine was kinda nice. I would never pay for it, but if they would like to send me some more for free, I will gladly use it as long as I can chase it with something to help kill the taste.

Pills irritate my stomach way less than coffee(with lots of sugar, of course) ever did. I feel like less of a fat load while taking caffeine pills, that's for sure.

Yikes. Yeah, too much caffeine can be bad news. I almost never drink coffee. But I do love me some diet soda. But coffee makes me feel... smothery.... :/

Here's what I do. I dissolve a scoop of coffee in a mixture of water and either ammonia or sodium bicarbonate. I boil the mixture to separate out the solid, and then I let it cool. I dry out the solid and cut it up into small nuggets, or "rocks." I can store the rocks just about indefinitely in my freezer. When I'm ready to consume, I put one rock in a small glass pipe, set it on fire with a lighter and inhale. Mmmm, coffee. Good to the last drop.
