That's bad. I hate that crap. Do they still cut to commercial, and then when they return show you what you just saw AGAIN?

I turned it off a while ago and that was one of the reasons.

It's all the fWc fans and their streams.

I missed Monday, but the Johnny Ace thing is getting stale. they've been trying to recapture McMahon/Austin for years now, but Laryngitis has the charisma of a used fap sock.

Needs more hot women wrestling. Preferably in jello or mud. And with no story to it.

Zack Ryder's fault. Completely.

I misread the headline as 'Ratings drop for WWE Monday Nitro'.

/so when do they add the third hour?

He wasn't really on Monday. Johnny Ace is actually growing on me a bit

Obviously, they need Orton and Cena to be unbeatable champions again.

Ratings weren't that bad. Just stop airing those 15 minute videos about John and Dwayne. And was Kharma just a one shot deal? I kinda want her to kill some biatches.

I stopped watching when they cut to commercials during the matches. I am missing "action" to watch 10 slim jim commercials and 3 energy drink ads.

Kharma literally popped out her kid not even a month before the Royal Rumble. She probably isn't in 100% shape, but they still wanted her there to make a statement. My guess was it was likely planned for her to be there all along, and then she got pregnant.

I haven't watched since I was a kid in the 1980's... but indeed the fact that the title is swapped like every month sort of makes the whole thing lame to me. For me, I liked having the "unbeatable" Hogan. Added a lot of tension and drama.

DNRTFA Summary of article about WWE ratings on the Bleacher Report by their staff 5th grader:

"I like wrestling. Some people don't like wrestling, but i like wrestling. Ratings were ok for wrestling. Sometimes more people watched than other times. Maybe it was because so many people watched the Super Bowl. The end."

Reposting from the other (more dead) thread:

A while back I proposed a Hall of Fame idea that made a little more sense in my mind. To qualify for the WWE Hall of Fame, you had to:

1. Have not been in an official WWE/WWF/WWWF match for at least 4 years
2a) Have been a primary title holder for a minimum of 180 cumulative days [primary meaning WWE Champ or WHC]

OR

2b) Have been a secondary title holder for a minimum of 365 cumulative days [secondary meaning Intercontinental belt or WWE (i.e. post-2003) US belt)

OR

2c) Have main evented at least four of the big four PPVs (Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series or Royal Rumble) - Main evented is defined by me as either being in a match for a primary title or being in the final match on the card.

Using those criteria, and spending too much time on wikipedia and wrestling sites, I discovered that only 19 men qualified for a WWE hall of fame under those criteria.

These are as singles wrestlers only, and based solely on what they did within the WWE/WWF/WWWF (Which is why Flair isn't there, among others)

Here's the list, sorted by year they would first be eligible. If you were on a fictitious WWE HoF committee, would you say yes or no to these guys?

Class of 1991 (Last match 1987):
Bruno Sammartino
Pedro Morales
Billy Graham
All of whom qualify under the primary championship stipulation

Class of 1992 (Last match 1988):
Don Muraco
Qualifies under the secondary championship stipulation

Class of 1993 (Last match 1989):
Andre the Giant
Qualifies under the main event stipulation

No qualifiers from 1994-1996

Class of 1997 (Last match 1993):
Tito Santana
Ted DiBiase, Sr
Santana qualifies under the secondary title stip, Million Dollar Man under the main event stip

Class of 1998 (Last match 1994):
Randy Savage
Qualifies under the Primary stip

Nobody in 1999

Class of 2000 (Last match 1996):
Yokozuna
Ultimate Warrior
Both in as primary champions

Nobody from 2001-2003

Class of 2004 (Last Match 2000):
Bob Backlund
Primary champion stip

Nobody in 2005

Class of 2006 (Last Match 2002):
Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig
Scott Hall
Both under the secondary championship stipulation

Class of 2007 (Last Match 2003):
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Class of 2008 (Last Match 2004):
Brock Lesnar
Under primary championship stipulation

Nobody in 2009

Class of 2010 (Last Match 2006):
Hulk Hogan
Kurt Angle
Both as primary champions (reminder it's 4 years since last WWE match, not last match...)

Class of 2011 (Last Match 2007):
Chris Benoit
Secondary championship stipulation, but can't help but feel he probably wouldn't get in for non wrestling reasons...

Class of 2012 (Last Match 2008):
The Honky Tonk Man
Secondary championship stipulation.

There a good bunch more wrestlers who would qualify if I dropped the 4 year requirement, but I like the required waiting period for real sport halls of fame, so am copying that.

What say you all?

Based on the fact that Brock Lesnar is in, but The Rock is out...

I say no.

Also, a lot of guys switched back and forth between the WWE the WCW and/or ECW, but only the WWE is still around. There are guys like Flair and Mick Foley who definitely deserve to be in even though their best years weren't necessarily in the WWE. IIRC Sting never wrestled outside the WCW, but it would be shameful if he never made it into a HoF.

/I did hear something about the Rock coming back recently, in which case I retract my objection on those grounds. Lesnar still sucked, though.

Meh, that's not terrible. A drop from the post-Rumble RAW isn't really a surprise, and there's bound to be a lull as they build to the Elimination Chamber PPV which is never very exciting and only serves as a setup for Wrestlemania.

Plus, no Taker and a lackluster main event (a six-man tag? Meh.) killed interest early on. Next week, Jericho/Punk should really fire things up, I hope... the promos between those two should be epic when they get really fired up.

I hate to say it, but I agree with the concerns with Kane. He's always been a favorite of mine, but this angle is very meh. I think they're working towards giving him one more WM match, and after that he may retire.

Wait, are you talking about Kane, or another goth gimmick?

I say Triple Gagne face them both in a triple threat match, and bury both guys, that way we can move on to a new era of Cena/Orton main events.

Rock was last in the ring at Survivor Series 2011, so he's not eligible yet. And I'm aware of other promotions and Flair, Foley, Sting etc.'s legacy, which is why I specified that it was a WWE hall of fame, and not a general pro wrestling one. If that was the case, I'd have to do a shiat load more research into NWA/WCW/TNA/ECW titles and events to assess a valid criteria for them. If I were doing that, a lot more names would make it. Though Sting (and Flair) would still be ineligible based on the 4 year requirements...

It's a generational transition thing. Happens every 8-10 years I bet. An older group of fans leave as they develop different tastes. A group of younger people than begin to grow into bigger fans when they realize it isn't just a bunch of herculean men yelling at each other, but controlled homo-erotic soap opera at it's finest.

I know some of it's political, but that's three people who's combined reigns as WWE/WWWF/WWF champion comprises over 18 cumulative years.

Savage was also IC Champ for over a year, and main evented in 8 different Big Four PPV's.

I was reading a book the other day that talk about the "homosocietal" implications of a frat house--a place where you could be exclusively in the company of men, talk about men, and have a cadre of affectionate "brothers" without ever having to question your sexuality. And then I think about all of the times I heard of frat houses having "wrestling nights" and putting on WWE or WCW on the big screen, well, I think that says a lot.
