That was a dark, dark episode last episode. Still, I'm glad they're not letting Boyd turn into a choirboy. Also, am I the only person who loves Dewey? I sincerely hope he doesn't croak.

Did not see last night episode yet but have it on DVR. Have the killed off Winona yet? Cause her character is really starting to grate on my nerves. She was more fun when she was still married to the dork real estate guy and still kind of hated Raylan for divorcing her. As June Cleaver she is boring and shrill.

I watched about the last 10 minutes of the show last week. Having spent the first few years of my life there, and having been back there several times, I can say that what I saw was very authentic. It's beyond backward down there.

I was noticing last week on my run that they put up a big Justified billboard along Versailles Road here in Frankfort. Not uncommon but we're talking about a town of ~25,000. That is the route most government employees take from Lexington to Frankfort, though.

Great show. Interesting to see some of the writers read the Kentucky papers. Cops busted a third organized pill ring from Florida to Frankfort a couple of weeks ago, so it's somewhat founded in truth.

Justified is awesome because it has great writing and great acting.

I'm wondering if Limehouse really does have more money and that he is holding it for Loretta McCready till she turns eighteen. Seems like something Mags would have done.

Has there ever been a show where the lead gets so little screen time?

Justified is great because they have the star beating people up which is great. And a bunch of different times which is also great, TV is great

NuttierThanEver: Have the killed off Winona yet?

I don't think she even appeared last night, so I guess her storyline is being downplayed.

Someone help me out here. Boyd had a line in the pilot episode, something like 'Read your Bible, as interpreted by experts'. Never before has one line crystalized things so succinctly.

BOYD CROWDER: See in the beginning right, you had your mud people. Now they were also referred to as beasts because they had no souls. See they were soulless and then Cain. Now you remember Cain now
RAYLAN GIVENS: Mmhmm
BOYD CROWDER: Well Cain, he laid down with the mud people and out of these fornications came the Edomites. Now do you know who the Edomites are?
RAYLAN GIVENS: Who?
BOYD CROWDER: They're the Jews Ray.
RAYLAN GIVENS: You serious?
BOYD CROWDER: Read your Bible as interpreted by experts, ahahah.
RAYLAN GIVENS: Oh, you know Boyd. I think you just use the Bible to do whatever the hell you like.
RAYLAN GIVENS: Well what do you think I like Raylan?
RAYLAN GIVENS: You like to get money and blow shiat up

lasercannon: I'm wondering if Limehouse really does have more money and that he is holding it for Loretta McCready till she turns eighteen. Seems like something Mags would have done.

Excellent point. Of course, Loretta wouldn't know it yet (she's smart, but she's not that good of a liar/bluffer, when Raylan asks her about the money).

Also, it's nice that they replay last week's episode at midnight. The new episode, Raylan mentions Arlo, and Limehouse shrugs it off, like he never saw or heard of him. Doesn't remember him (Raylan makes that long speech about it to rile up Devil). Then, they replay last week's episode (w/ the pawn shop mooks), and the part where Boyd and Limehouse discuss stuff. Limehouse calls out Arlo. Of course he remembers Arlo Givens! He straight up lied to Raylan, to his face. But why?

Because people/shady characters/criminals are always lying to law enforcement in TV shows?

Not so much a Kentucky thing as an Appalachian thing, in general. A lot of people think of Justified as portraying southern culture, but it's really more about Appalachian culture, which is half southern and half completely unique.

They writing in the show is particularly good. It's a weird slurry of redneck talk mixed with an older, almost ornamental language. You can still find people in Appalachia that speak that way. They use an older way of speaking, a way that would have been more common a hundred years ago but that sounds oddly archaic to ears accustomed to a modern midwest vernacular.

I did like last nights scene between Loretta and Raylan about the missing money and if either of them knew about it.

It's a Southern thing. I hear it every day in NC and I know my SC relatives do it too.

Speaking of accents: Dickie last night said "can't" twice like this: "caant" when we all know a true 'neck would pronounce it "kaint."

His acting coach needs to tighten up on that. Jeremy Davies is a damned good actor as he's got all the twitches of the backwoods shiatheel down pat. Just work on the accent a bit.

All in all, though, I get them a solid "A" for Getting It Right.

Limehouse is playing the ancient game of farking with the white folks. He wants Arlo to remember that he (Limehouse) kicked his ass, but he wants to keep all his cards to his chest with dealing with Raylan.

And speaking of which, I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of Deputy Marshal Brooks this season. Limehouse did everything but accuse her of "passing" last night, and I have a feeling she'll find a way to get back at him.

/best show on TV

I'm barely able to remember her first name (and then only with the "whine" mnemonic), but I was able to remember Gary Hawkens, realtor extraordinaire. So I'm able to come up with Winona Hawkens or Winona Givens. If you're asking about her maiden name, no idea...

Ian McShane.

I think you've got it there. Mags cut Dickie out completely (just the weed business and nothing else, if I remember correctly). Makes sense then that she rearranged the deal with Limehouse before she died, putting most of that money aside for someone else (likely Loretta), leaving just a little bit behind because after all, Dickie's a weaselly little turd, but he's still kin.

I've got some real hopes for this show - just hope it keeps being as good as the seasons before.

Season 2 was downright Shakespearean and the dialogue was so 'right.'

I like this idea. Puts Loretta on a collision course w/ the Law (and Raylan). Raylan saved her life, but $3M is $3M. If he comes after it, what would she do? And who would she hire to help keep it safe from Raylan, Boyd, Dickie, and every other thug in Kentucky who knows about it?

Ill be damned if I didnt see a bit of ledger's Joker in Neal mcdonough when raylen was taking his picture. That face was from a man who deeply enjoys what he does. He simply does not give a Detroit fark. Put some clown paint and some scars on a purple suit to match his eyes, and we've got some Nolan hand-picked director's next joker story.
