It's freaky when the tech is doing the ultrasound and suddenly a skull flashes up. It sorted reminded me of Independence Day when they planted the virus.

Way before I ever got pregnant I had a dream that I was pregnant and looking at myself sitting on a couch. Suddenly the baby was trying to escape Alien-style. I could see little hands stretching the skin and then the baby's face pressed against the skin and I could see all the facial features through the skin. I could see it screaming. It was a truly disturbing dream.

So during my ultrasound a few months ago I actually jumped and scared the technician when I saw the image below on the screen.

Years ago when I was pregnant with my son, I went in for the ultrasound. I didn't receive the regular paper printout, I got a copy on the x-ray plastic sheet. All you can see of him is his skeletal structure, 2 huge holes for his eye sockets, his spine, skull shape...was pretty weird.

/when i asked the tech if she could tell if it was a boy or girl, she said that she couldn't tell, but the way the hands were shoved between the legs, it might just be a boy

Nothing quite like squinting at an ultrasound, trying to make out shapes, and all of a sudden there's a grinning skull looking at you.

/thankfully we got a couple "normal" shots on ours.

Thank you! Due to my genetic contribution they'd likely also be beautiful, so between that and the whole self-important douche thing they'll probably be able to deal with that which has held back so many, love for java scripts and the passive-aggressive stuff from their mother.

If only you were female! Maybe some day science will bring us together.
