ethics-gradient: a) Muslim isn't a race - if I converted to Islam I wouldn't suddenly be a different race.
b) As has been observed Muslim men have a less than stellar record of abusing trust when in positions of authority over women. Maybe that's different where you live. It would have been nice to be proved wrong.
c) I'm sure the fact that he's cute make it so much more acceptable. Personally I try to judge people by their actions not their appearance but that's just me, I'm funny that way.

1 - I don't get to see Teen WB's posts since I put him on ignore the other day for suggesting that it's not real rape if a woman doesn't resist "with every fibre of her being" and that when a woman says "no" to sex it often means "maybe", so I wouldn't use him as a poster boy for reasonable discourse
2 - OK, re: Islam not being a race. You got me on that one. It's not. Would you prefer Islamaphobe? Is it worth me mentioning that it doesn't mention his faith ANYWHERE in the article, and you've just assumed he's a Muslim because that fits in with your views on what Muslims do?
3 - my joke was intended to suggest that you are not as good looking as Mr Punch. It's a joke straight out of Blackadder. Well aside from the fact that the story did not take place in London, and that "paki" is an offensive and racist term, and that we have nothing to suggest that the doctor comes from Pakistan (or even was born outside the UK), and that you've got no idea how many "pakis" are doctors in London (or indeed Welwyn Garden City), I'd say you were bang on.

Reading a headline about a doctor abusing a patient and chiming in with "as I clicked on the link I thought the chance he would be Muslim was above 50%" might be evidence towards it though......

You've made those claims but offered no evidence for it and then suggested that anyone who doesn't go along with you is trying to shout you down.

You're not trying to have a debate and you haven't asked any questions - you're making blanket assertions about an entire religion. If you freely choose to come onto a web forum and make those kind of statements you should expect people to challenge you for evidence and not just cry "Somebody's called me a racist to shut me up when I'm telling the truth."

Again, my maths is hazy but please explain to me why, when you read the headline, you stated that " the chance he would be Muslim was above 50%" if you don't think that over 50% of patient abuse is committed by Muslim doctors?

Hang on a minute - you previously claimed that if a male doctor abuses a female patient then it's more than likely (over 50%) that the doctor will turn out to be Muslim? Is it majority or minority?

I spent 5 minutes Googling and came up with nothing at all relevant (and my Google-fu is strong). However, I find it bizarre that you have made repeated assertions but when challenged about them your reaction is to complain that you're being shouted down and tell the challenger to go and find your evidence for themselves.

I'm not claiming anything. I'm just asking you to provide even an iota of evidence for what you have claimed.

I'm not denying anything, you're the one making claims and I'm asking for proof. For the sake of argument, let's say I agreed that there is more violence against women in Muslim communities than there is in other communities (I don't agree, but what the hey)..... that doesn't get us anywhere near your suggestion that Muslim doctors are more likely to sexually assault female patients in a hospital.

You misunderstood me here - my question was whether Muslim men were over represented in the "violence against women stakes" in the UK. I have no idea. I realise that there is a lot of publicity around so-called "honour killings" (which are horrific) but I suspect that's a relatively small proportion of the overall crimes committed against women in the UK. Again, you've asserted that Muslim men commit a disproportionate number of violent offences against women, but have done NOTHING to support your claim.

You can howl about being labelled as an Islamophobe and accuse me of ignoring facts, but the truth is that you decided to log in and make a comment that was extremely derogatory against a section of the population based entirely on their religion. All I've done is ask you for your evidence.
