I remember the original outcry over Episode 1 when it came out...people are going to pay to see it again...IN 3D? come on already...milk that teet some more Lucas.

/would go see The Grey if I was hittin' a theater...

DanZero: texdent: Really? Green?

TFD's have been going green at least once a day since the beginning of this year. FARK party travel gets expensive ya know!

shrug...I'll bite sometimes

I saw the Grey, so I'm sated for a while.

Old Republic all weekend, need to get my Twi'lek Smuggler off Tat and onto Alderaan.

The All-Powerful Atheismo: I_C_Weener: There is a new Star Wars Episode I? Cool. Maybe this time George will remake it better than the original.

Episode I is already better than the original.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH, YOUR A POOPFACE AND WE ALL KNOW IT!

I'd only ever shown my kids the Star Wars that I'd grown up with. But my 6 year old son saw the trailer and wants to see Episode 1. So Jar-Jar in full 3D for me, ugh.

Half Right: How about I punch myself in the groin. I think that'd be the best option of those listed.

I find your lack of celebrity worship refreshing.

Krieghund: sprawl15: Krieghund: None, I'll be busy playing modding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

FTFM.

/tools release today whoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Yeah, you FTF me too.

My point was that video games are just as bad as movies in churning out sequel after sequel. And from what I've seen in Skyrim, the only things that relate to the rest of the series are a little bit of the setting and a quest or two. Everything else is rather generic fantasy.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind featured extensive, interesting lore and a setting notably different from many "traditional" fantasy settings. Unfortunately, neither The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion nor The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim varied as greatly from tradition nor did they feature as deep a lore.

Sadly, Phantom Menace. Taking my nephew, he wants to see it in the worst way (he was not born when it was released the first time). His father is in Afghanistan, so I'm being the good uncle.

The worst part is since I'm supervising a child, I can't get liquored the fark up before having to be exposed to JarJar Binks.

Those whoJerseyTim: Anyone who goes to see the Star Wars prequels in 3D deserves to lose certain Constitutional rights.

Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither, and those who shell out bills for another Lucas cash-in deserve cockpunches and lives of indentured servitude.

-Benjamin Franklin

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, except those that watch crappy 3D effect re-releases of movies that should have been burned rather than see the light of day in the first place . . .
-Discarded first draft of the Declaration of Independence

The founding fathers were in agreement, I think.

Safe House is the only one worth seeing.

Journey to the back of my soft palate via the nostril, starring sriracha sauce stirred into a tall frosty glass of boiling shasta.

Look! I've already wanted to slap the living sh*t out of Jar Jar Bink for the past ten years! I don't need to be teased with 3D on top of it!

2012-02-07 02:19:40 PM
I'll be catching Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy over at the Camel View 5.

I was thinking about watching Wolf-puncher

I will not give any more money to George Lucas. George, if you still want to make money off of Star Wars, make new movies not crappy rehashes.

Another Earth arrived from Netflix. Thoughts?

That'd be a big 'none of the above.'

I love Denzel so I guess I am going to check that out.

None. I will, however, spend some quality time with a few stills from Journey 2.

I'd actually go see Star Wars if it was available near me in 2D as well. Hey, it's still Star Wars in the theater. It had it's moments, like the Darth Maul fight.

I wish Hollywood would understand that not everybody enjoys 3D, and that it makes some people feel downright ill. All this emphasis on 3D is just going to make me go to the theater less and less.

Co-worker saw Chonicle last night and liked it a lot. For what it's worth.

2012-02-07 02:23:15 PM
I'm going to pirate the shiat out of Buckaroo Banzi, Tank Girl and other really bad movies of that nature

Loucifer: I'll be catching Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy over at the Camel View 5.

I hated that movie. I really wanted to like it, and I certainly can see its merits... but the script is just awful. They never... ever... stop using the spy jargon which is confusing, befuddling, and distracting. Yes, I understood what was going on in the movie for the most part... but I was spending so much time just figuring out what the hell they were trying to say that it was not enjoyable.

I'm tempted by that. It looks to either be really good or bad.

None. Going to movies at the movie theater is a waste of money. They're expensive and most new movies are crap. All movies will be out on DVD and streaming media in a short time. And I am patient. Pause, pee, get another drink, un-pause isn't available in a movie theater.

2012-02-07 02:24:37 PM
I will also take one Skyrim, please.

I also have The Treasure of the Sierra Madre on my DVR. I will probably watch that.

Or mentally replace Jar Jar with Lucas in blackface, and laugh your ass off.

I think I'll watch Kill List, or perhaps A Dangerous Method.

Tziva: Safe House is probably not great, but I kinda want to see it.

It looks like a gun-fighting car chasing snappy one liner explody bit of entertainment. I have no expectations of it other than that. Should be a great film in that context.

When did Fark jump the shark?

The quality of approved submissions seems a bit odd lately...

Oh well! Welcome to Fark!

To the first three: no.

To Phantom Menace: They're not stringing Lucas up to be tortured by moviegoers who sit through the film, so fark NO.

I will spend the money that would be wasted going to any of that crap on beer or wine and then watch something on netflix. Will be much more enjoyable.

Okay, the first re-release of Star Wars was great. It brought the original films to a whole new generation and cleaned it up a lot. It's a decent film that should be preserved.

The second re-release was kind of a whorish money grab, but the added FX and filled out scenes were actually kinda cool.

The third re-release, prequels, etc. were like taking a geriatric horse, stuffing it full of steroids and giving it a new heart, then forcing it to run in a kentucky derby all over again. I mean, seriously. Let the horse have it s twilight years, to live on in its progeny such as the EU games and books that take the blood line in a new direction.

Star Wars 3D: ZOMGZOMBIEHORSE!

I saw it on Friday and REALLY liked it. Very well-done and extremely realistic characters. Somebody remembers very well what it was like to be a nerdy outcast in high school.

Everyone should go see 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' instead of any of that garbage. It's fantastic. Though apparently not for everyone since it's only got a 6.3 on IMDB (I voted 9).
