Given what this guy supposedly said at the scene, it seems obvious he was trying to kill her. However, a lot of these douse-ex-with-flammable-substance-then-strike-a-match types of attacks are more about mutilating their target rather than killing them. That being said, those kinds of attacks make me angrier than your average garden variety bitter-break-up murder.

It smacks of a mentality of 'well, since you don't want me, I'm going to disfigure you forever so no one else will.' That kind of deranged, selfish, malicious way of thinking makes me very, very angry.

I laugh at him setting himself on fire. You hear that? (I hope he reads this.) I laugh at thee!

I hope his burns end up infected and it takes weeks for him to die.
