He probably meant to edit the Conservapedia page instead. The URLs are almost the same and all.

FREE SPEECH!!1!

2012-02-07 06:40:32 AM
"Should I not have done that? Was that wrong?"

2012-02-07 07:28:03 AM
The Internet never forgets, dumbass.

2012-02-07 07:40:52 AM
When facts are just too inconvenient there's a sleazy spokesperson, for everything else? There's Callista's Mastercard...

2012-02-07 07:46:29 AM
Heh, yeah, that will work. Not.

Anybody who doesn't know Gingrich is an amoral sociopath with a messiah complex has not been paying attention.

2012-02-07 07:50:02 AM
So he tried to do to Wikipedia what Newt does to his own "history" books?

2012-02-07 07:50:22 AM
Following former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's mischaracterization of Paul Revere's American Revolution ride, her supporters edited Revere's Wikipedia page with Palin's version of the story.

Good times, good times......

You can edit all you want, your boss is still an asshole, and all triple-digit IQ Americans know this.

2012-02-07 07:56:47 AM
This would be frightening if this didn't prove that Republicans look at Wikipedia as a way to truly edit history.

2012-02-07 07:57:06 AM
You know you're on the losing side of the debate when you have to lie and conceal the truth to win.

2012-02-07 08:00:44 AM
Republicans looking at 1984 as in instruction manual? Didn't see that coming.

2012-02-07 08:03:06 AM
republicans cheating because facts aren't in their favor? i'm shocked!

2012-02-07 08:05:37 AM
Unless this action is coupled with some sort of mad scientist machine that can globally wipe everyone's memory, this scheme isn't a very solid one.

2012-02-07 08:07:15 AM
Too bad most people who follow politics already know what a sociopath Newt is...

2012-02-07 08:08:56 AM
From the introduction to an article on Callista, DeSantis struck: "She met her husband met while he was in the House, and had an affair while he was conducting the impeachment investigation for President Bill Clinton."

Yeah, so it's not just minor things, or stylistic stuff. He's actually editing history to hide Gingrich's astonishing hypocrisy. Nice.

Editors don't like Gingrich, much like the guy who did the Iron Curtain page doesn't like Churchill. That's Wikipedia for you. I mention Iron Curtain only because I clicked on the article yesterday and waded through the lexicon of irrelevant pre-Cold War usage somebody dropped in to dilute the effect of Churchill's well-known speech. And if you go to the Waltons (TV show) page you get some guy nitpicking details of the show's timeline. And so on. I wish Wikipedia would go offline more often so people would learn how to find information on their own.

2012-02-07 08:12:11 AM
Unfortunately, Newtie, some of us were alive in the late 90s and remember what a fat-headed, bloated, whiny, hypocritical gelatinous pantload of a barrel of retarded babboon shiat you are.

2012-02-07 08:16:51 AM
I'm going to start using "Republican" instead of "Orwellian" from now on. I mean, for fark's sake...

2012-02-07 08:16:54 AM
not sure exactly how wiki works, but couldn't someone just go back there and fix his page?

themindiswatching: He probably meant to edit the Conservapedia page instead. The URLs are almost the same and all.

And of course, Conservapedia basically sucks his cock.

What a vandalized Wikipedia page on Gingrich probably looked like: Link (new window)

Surprisingly, they do mention the divorces, but they lighten them up and blame the Lamestream LSM Liberal Media about the attention it receives.

Hey, this isn't the Fark page, this is just some penny-ante politician. Not quite the same thing...

/Seriously: try editing the Fark page and see what happens...

Newt Ginginrich once scored a 19 in golf. It would have been an 18 but he got distracted by a 19th hole.

2012-02-07 08:24:16 AM
Anyone using Wikipedia to conduct research on Presidential candidates pretty much deserves a guy like Newt in the White House.

ZAZ: Editors don't like Gingrich,

Editors being humans, I can understand that.

So they edited wikipedia. Anyone searching google for information would have found it anyway.

// they must have gotten, like, 6 entire people to believe in Newt without realizing he's a womanizing, lying, hypocritical, self-aggrandizing, self-important worthless fat-sack of a candidate
// if one of them is an Adelson, his campaign gets 6 more weeks of funding

2012-02-07 08:50:01 AM
ohh no, he foiled the libs, now nobody will know that Gingrich is human trash.

2012-02-07 08:50:56 AM
I just want to state for the record that democrats are useless sacks of shiat who never accomplished anything, and who believe that stuff of successful people should be taken from them and given to totally useless losers because - it's only fair!

...and I would still rather have Obama than Newt.

How long before Newt treats the American citizen like he did his former wives, which is to say, takes a dump on them to further his own goals? F U Newt. You should be disqualified from running for any office higher than assistant dog-catcher.

I wish I had the money to 'Ross Perot' this election cycle. Every debate I'd spend 100% of my time asking Newt if the next Mrs. Gingrich accompanied him to the debate.

Newt Gingrich is the male GOP answer to Hillary Clinton.

2012-02-07 08:52:31 AM
though his most recent direct edit to the site was in June of 2011.

meh

2012-02-07 08:56:05 AM
Oh Newt... Don't do that! The Internet hates it when people do that! And they have access to the page edit too... And more spare time and technical knowledge than every one of your supporters combined.

Keep it up, and next thing the Internet 'edits' will be your campaign website... And I'm guessing it won't be for 'accuracy'.

Are we sure it was Gingrich's spokesman, and not Saint Sarah and her cavalry of Paul Ruveers come to save the day, riding horses while ringing bells and shooting their guns to warn the British they can't take away our future 2nd amendments?

Some of my favorite wiki edits I ever came across were in Gareth Southgate's article and insinuated that his nose was a turnip. Found this to be very funny.

Wish he was still in charge of Boro.

So Newt's first two marriages have gone down the memory hole?

Next thing he'll be telling us that we have always been at war with Eastasia.

SevenizGud: I just want to state for the record that democrats are useless sacks of shiat

Okay i'm with you

who never accomplished anything,

Well I wouldn't say THAT, but okay, it's arguable,

and who believe that stuff of successful people should be taken from them and given to totally useless losers because - it's only fair!

Wait, what? Who said that now? Who thinks that now? 'the stuff of successful people should be taken from them and given to totally useless losers, because it's only fair'? is that ACTUALLY someone's opinion or policy? Really? Who said that again? Because I'm thinking . . . no one. I'm thinking you made that up.

Newt Gingrich is the male GOP answer to Hillary Clinton.

I agree 100%, I mean, Hillary, like Newt, dumped each of her wives for a younger model, advocates the return of child labor, and thinks Singapore has a reasonable drug policy. Newt was married to a two term-president, too, and Newt has operated as Secretary of State. They are so farking similar, has anyone checked to see if they've ever been photographed together?!?

She is JUST like him! I can't believe no one but you noticed!

2012-02-07 09:58:31 AM
It is refreshing to think that these Gingrich threads (like the Palin and Cain threads) will one day fade into obscurity.

Those of us old enough to remember who Newt Gingrich really is will not vote for him.

Those of us who were to young to vote when when Newt Gingrich was ruining shiat, are not going to be voting for a republican ever.

I put myself in both categories because I was a precocious teenager who paid attention to politics, even if I was too young to vote.

Those who don't know the difference between "to" and "too" shouldn't be allowed to vote.
