Haha Republicans. Obama tricked you and now you're not allowed to love America anymore.

2012-02-07 01:09:08 AM

chiett: It was inspiring.
A union ad for the democrats paid for by the taxpayer.
cute.

You sir, are an idiot. No, I take that back. Calling you an idiot is an insult to idiots everywhere.

These days you could show a Republican an inkblot and he'd see Obama in a turban pissing on an American flag.

2012-02-07 01:09:17 AM
The article has a good point. Rove's argument is basically "That ad is full of optimism and hope. It's clearly a shill for Democrats!"

OK dude. You want to cede optimism and hope to the Democrats? I think they'll be fine with that.

2012-02-07 01:09:42 AM
In the greater scheme of things, who cares what that a-hole Rove thinks or says?
But did you catch the half-time show? That was excellent.

Don't Troll Me Bro!: Is there anything that doesn't scare/offend you, GOP? Anything at all? What a bunch of crybabies.

This is essentially the issue. The GOP is terrified of anyone and anything that might possibly run away from their cultish script. Even Clint Eastwood is too liberal for these idiots anymore.

Goodbye, Republicans. You already lost this election. You have another four years to figure out how to talk to Americans.

Congrats to the farkers who called this Sunday night!!

Wayne 985: Is there a more despicable man in American politics?

That commercial got to him. They're really scared of the American people uniting against them. As long as we're divided they're safe. But let a leader come along to unite them, with the right message at the right time and the walls will crumble and the reins will be taken back.

What made you think it was a Democrat ad?

Was it the notion that there is still hope to save America from decline and ruin?

If those are regarded as Democratic values, then I'm fine with that.

It's the republican mindset of "F*CK AMERICA! LET IT GO ROT IN HELL!" that you rightards should be ashamed of.

2012-02-07 01:18:33 AM
Fuحk Rove. He's never done or said anything helpful or useful, unless it's been for himself.

2012-02-07 01:19:36 AM
Meh. I thought it was kind of a cheesy ad full of the jingoistic appeals to patriotism which characterized the Bush years. But if Rove hates it, I guess it's not all bad.

2012-02-07 01:22:21 AM
Poor Karl. Now he can only "Badger the Witness" to Red Dawn...Magnum Force is clearly off the rotation.

2012-02-07 01:23:24 AM
Gotta give props to Eastwood. He's a Republican that's not a slave to ideology. And he must have known he would have taken flak for this ad.

I'm all for anything that discomfits Rove

Toward the end of the commercial I loudly stated to all, "So vote for Obama! Four more years!"

Judging from the narrative on FARK lately, I'm going to have to go with either John Kerry or John Edwards.

It's well known the GOP reacts angerly to anyone displaying signs of optimism.

2012-02-07 01:30:57 AM
seriously i had no idea where the commercial was going till the end... but to argue a commercial that says We are strong, we recover, we survive, and buy American and they hate that message wtf? really??

What I take away from what Rove said is that he thinks Chicago is in MIchigan.

Umeraken Ideut: What I take away from what Rove said is that he thinks Chicago is in MIchigan.

You're missing the point. Rove doesn't want the country run by corrupt Chicago politicians who turn the economy around. He prefers it run by the corrupt Texas oilmen who crashed it in the first place.

See, I thought it was simply a car company pandering to its demographic by latching on to a current populous ideal, creating an emotional and somewhat patriotic reaction that would lead to word of mouth, which translates into continued exposure at little to no cost or effort on the part of the comPany, who already spend considerable amounts of both creating and airing the ad.

Stupid, naive me.

Let's see...

Invading Iraq, PATRIOT Act, no investigation into failure to prevent 9/11, tax cuts for the rich, 'Mission Accomplished', Defense of Marriage Act: United We Stand.

First African American President, bailing out GM, killing Bin Laden, killing Somali pirates, Rally to Restore Sanity, Clint Eastwood telling the entire country to end the recession by shutting up and being tough: Shameless political stunt.

We're living in the opposite universe Earth. It's the only way to explain how completely the Republicans have turned into the Party of Sissies.

2012-02-07 02:28:13 AM
"I was, frankly, offended," Rove said

As are all your countrymen by you, you waste of ample flesh.

But perhaps that was the kind of response you banked on, you self-serving utterly amoral schtick douche.

If so congrats and say "Hi" to your companions in the bottom-most sump of the political septic tank.

/yes, do please wallow and giggle your wobbly impotent jowls off all the way to your bank. You'll find the ink doesn't rub off the currency even with your copious sweat.

Cue up Groucho Marx in Horsefeathers singing "Whatever it is, I'm against it".

If the uppity black Kenyan anti-colonial socialist sekrit mooslim is for rescuing two auto corporations and literally a million jobs, I'M AGAINST IT!

Seems pretty optimistic to me. I'd say we'll either be gone, or part of a world government within 100 years or so.

2012-02-07 02:32:49 AM
It was definitely a political ad. But it had juuuuuust enough ambiguity to get away with it. Look, it boils down to this: Obama bailed out the auto industry. Detroit, which once had 14% unemployment, is now back down to about 9%. Obama's emerging GOP rival, Mitt Romney, once wrote an op-ed piece back in 2008, calling for allowing the auto industry to go bankrupt. So you're goddamn right that the auto companies are in Obama's corner with this, uh, dog whistle (is this even the right context?) ad. And Obama deserves it.

the Democratic Party motto: "Osama Bin Laden is dead, General Motors is alive." Boom, baby.

Karl Rove was Robert Novak's second source for exposing Valerie Plame as CIA. Karl Rove is a traitor to his country and he deserves nothing but contempt. It's altogether fitting that this stain on humanity should spend the rest of his days doing nothing more important than commenting on TV commercials.

Dear Karl;

Didn't your momma teach you not to shiat your pants at the holiday dinner table?

Wow, Karl Rove "offended" by something. This is really a commercial that I have to see! I'll just look it up and ... hey, just a minute! Karl Rove is a pathological liar selling his words to the whatever bidder. He was obviously bought by Chrysler to keep selling a pile-o-crap car to the stupid. They almost got me.

/is Rove actually an American or is he a North Korean shill?

We'll find out when his KIA commercial airs.

They sure are pretty though. If you want a car that you'll never drive and will rust faster than is scientifically possible, Chrysler is your brand.

Sooo... who has the latest updated GOP enemies list? Gotta add Clint Eastwood to it.

Chrysler makes some of the most visually interesting cars out there, and has for the last 15-20 years. Its just too bad they fall apart after 2. Hopefully Fiat will keep the interesting styling, and fix the interior which rattles apart and the engine's which blow head gaskets every 60k miles.

2012-02-07 03:50:38 AM
I'm sure Rove is offended by kittens and puppies as well.

2012-02-07 03:51:26 AM
