An 11-year-old set a special-ed kid on fire with a home-made flamethrower.

A), why does an 11-year-old have deodorant,
B), why can't I stop laughing.

Why?

Good thing he didn't use Aqua Net, the most flammable aerosol known to man.

At least it wasn't Axe.

It was (I thought) the bees knees in the 70s and 80s, but I thought it faded away in the 90s.

/also, why no Florida tag?

Whoops.
Anyway there are still whole sections for spray deodorant in stores. Right next to the regular stuff. Do you not shop anymore?

You'll take my aerosol deodarant from my cold, dead hand. I put it on before I get dressed in the morning. Stick deodorants can leave residue on pullover shirts, and gel deodorants are sticky and weird. My aerosols are CFC-free, the metal can is recyclable, and it does what I need it to do with a minimum of hassle.

2012-02-06 03:41:35 PM
Weird. I just threw out the same question last week. I can't believe they still make this stuff.
My buddy uses it on his feet when he skis. Supposedly it keeps your feet from sweating and ultimately keeps your feet warm.

The only spray deodorant I was aware of is that vile Axe stuff. The set-on-fire kid would have smelled that coming from a quarter mile and been able to get out of the way.

I guess I don't pay attention when I buy it. I tend to grab-n-go with staples such as Axe.

They apparently also don't watch the superbowl and its advertisements.

There were like 50 Old spice spray can commercials.

Agreed. I used to work for the company that made that stuff (Only back then it was called "Axis.") We couldn't give that shiat away. Now with a name change and market repositioning it's one of the hottest brands around. It still stinks, though.

*ahem* Let me tell you a secret. I find that the ladies stick deodorants are also more comfortably shaped for such practices. And no errant spraying up there to worry about too.

You haven't experienced anything until you've walked into a locker room for middle school boys who've simultaneously started hormone blast and discovered Axe. The combination of teen boy funk and the choking cloud of far too much Axe of every variety is overwhelming.

It's not all that stinky shiat aimed at 15 year olds.
There's unscented spray deodorant and stuff with the same scents as sticks.

What does it say about me, then, that Axe is the only (cheapest) option of antiperspirant that doesn't cause me to break out with bad rashes under my arms?
