Gotta give the judge a +1 on that one.

Wow, talk about a hit to your street cred.

"I guess I would have had to issue a larger fine if you would have won last night," Mock said.

Bwaaaahahahahahah

Meh, he tweets all the time about driving his Prius. I don't think he's trying to hide anything.

And he's admitted to wearing fake diamond earrings because "everybody will just assume they're real."

Ochocinco is awesome. The guy is a legitimate personality in a league filled with bland vanilla yogurt cups. He isn't a thug or a goon or a gangsta, seems to have a pretty good sense of self deprecating humor, and is engaged with the fans beyond the usual lip service given by the rest of the league.

His stock just went up in my book.

Municipal Court Judge Russell Mock fined Ochocinco $200 and ordered him to pay a $104 fine

So, he was only ordered to pay $104 of the $200 fine? Is the $104 a separate thing? Does he not have to pay the $200 because it was a mock fine?

I thought it was Hamilton County Indiana...Was going to say, that guy works fast.

Municipal Court Judge Russell Mock fined Ochocinco $200 and ordered him to pay a $104 fine -- and got off a good one-liner.
"I guess I would have had to issue a larger fine if you would have won last night," Mock said.

That was...unnecesary. And I guess I don't get the joke. Is it because he would have gotten more money for being on the winning team?

I think the fine was $200 and the court costs were the $104.

I think the problem starts with the name chad, and ends in ochocinco.

That is just... I wanna get off this planet.

Ochocinco, whose name was listed as Johnson in the tickets and court case

I thought he legally changed his name to Ochocinco. Why would he be named as Chad Johnson in a court proceeding?

Also, I'm with Rent Party, Ocho rocks. I just wish he'd realize that the career in the NFL is pretty much over and retire. If you can't get with the Belichick rejuvenation program, it's pretty much over.

Ochocinco has a lot he can do besides being a player at this point. I think he is great for the league either way, and I do love his approachable nature where he tweets about him being at IHOP at 5am and inviting anyone awake in the area to join him for a meal. If you actually read up on what the guy does, its impossible to hate him.

Chad Johnson/Ochocinco is awesome, both on and off the field. Can't help but think the Pats could have won if Belichick and Brady would just man up and acknowledge that he's the best WR on the team, instead of forcing the issue with Welker.

I think he changed his name back to Johnson, or is in the process of doing so.

The guy went to Miami Beach High School and then played for Oregon State. Just which of those scream out "thug life" to you?

Boston already "forced the issue" trying to get white kids and black kids to play nice together in the 70s with bussing. No reason to believe the Ocho experiment would work out any better than it has.

You apparently aren't aware the quantity of wiggers at Oregon State. The program itself is full of gangster wanna be's. I spend enough time on that campus and see so much of it. Makes me want to vomit in my mouth.

Actually a couple weeks ago he tweeted about walking to CVS, then asked if someone could give him a ride to Ted's Montana Grill and he bought the guy dinner.

I've liked him for a few years. The dude's about good clean fun, he just wound up on a team where "The Patriot Way" means shutting the fark up and getting in line instead of putting one's self out there as a personality. I heard no news of him really at all after Bruschi went and had another stroke on camera about "the machine"

2012-02-06 08:40:49 PM
It's a shame Chad wound up on the Patriots rather than a team that would have made more use of him. There's a good chance that's his own fault, but I've always liked him and can't help thinking he has a couple of productive years left.

Also, subby should have led with the judge's quip, since paying a traffic fine just barely counts as winding up in court.

Yeah, I'll get right on that. It may take a while, so feel free to do a few lines while you're waiting.

Suspended license...hahaha...why would anybody with money care about that kind of charge? It's just money and more money to settle the problem.

Snark or not, there were more than a few times when Ocho was on the field that Brady tried to force something into Welker instead of hitting the wide open Ocho.

After that 21-yarder, sure, he probably garners a bit more attention next time he lines up out wide, but I'm sure they could've snuck at least one more pass in there before NY put better coverage on him. I, too, wish he'd played a bigger role, but not so much as to alter the result...

That's the problem with watching football on TV. Because we only see where the ball actually goes (unless the cameraman also gets fooled on a fake), we're not really sure when Ocho was open and when he wasn't. If he's not getting open regularly, Brady's probably going to stop looking his way. You've only got a few seconds to make a decision.
