That's exactly what I came here to ask. That would be very cool indeed.

Of course, halfway through, the jaw ended up going black and white, so they had to send some poor schmuck to buy a $3 million ink cartridge.

Yeah I'm waiting on that too. So many issues stem from losing teeth (and implants) it would be nice to be able to put in a living 3rd set. I'm just hoping they figure out the tech before my jaw deforms/de-calcifies too much -_-

This is good news. Ever since I was young, I've dreamed of being in a horrible accident while being unable to control my high-tech aircraft, and losing several body parts, and then being rebuilt bionically and having my own cool theme song. So this is good news for me.

I wonder how the TSA will handle this, should she ever want to fly someplace...

My company has been looking at these sintering machines for about 3 years.

We think they are fantastic technology, and would really like to buy one, but can't justify the cost based on our current customers. Too risky to go out and buy one and hope that customers show up.

Smoky Dragon Dish: I wonder how the TSA will handle this, should she ever want to fly someplace...

Probably will have to give the TSA agent a hummer, just to make sure the jaw is fully functional.

As retarded i feel the TSA is, I have faith that they would not stupe that low. The thought of an 80 year old, oh god no make it stop.

I give it 30, maybe 40 years before surgery is done by robots with a guy sitting next to the machine just to make sure that it doesn't fark up.

They tried to a couple times. Last I heard he said he didn't want any more surgeries, because it just got worse every time.

I'm looking at that cheap one myself. It's only 1400, plus shipping. Of course, you have to build it yourself.

Instructables should have a few you can build for a lot less than that. No titanium sprayers, but hey.

/Yay Belgium.

I wouldn't mind some 3D printed titanium/bioceramic molars, had acid reflux so bad the stomach acid was coming up into my mouth, it completely ate away the back molars

/recently got it under control though
/molars are still stumps of exposed nerves though
/doesn't hurt anymore though because the acid fried the nerves

I work for a CNC Machine shop we were looking specifically at the sintering machines, like the one in the article. Three years ago, one capable of working with Titanium powders was $500,000. Last year, one was developed that could sinter Peek plastic (higher melting point than titanium, thermally stable), estimate was that it cost $2 million.

If I could figure out how to generate $1 million in sales for it the first year, we would have one on order tomorrow.
