Good. Because the 2012 one is really lame.

2012-02-06 11:09:18 AM
I have this crazy idea where the media focuses on what people in power are actually doing rather than constantly obsessing over who the next people in power are going to be.

I know the media has run the 2012 one into the ground, that article was nothing more than random speculation from someone bored with the current circus that the media created.

Great, a whole new collection of assholes. And some old not so favorites. Won't Hilary be like 80 by then? Just because Reagan governed well into his dementia years doesn't mean it's to be done.

If you have an election lasting more than 4 years, consult a physician.

President Ron Paul

Christie is going to have a heart attack soon, don't put him in the ring.

Shaggy_C: President Ron Paul

Dude would be 81 years old when he would be inaugurated. That's three years older than Ronald Reagan was when he LEFT office.

Coolness. I'll go slit my wrists now.

What's up with bass-playing presidential candidates? (Kerry, Huckabee, O'Malley).

No drummers, no guitarists, why bass?

2012-02-06 02:49:42 PM
Holy hell the field for 2016 looks awful on both sides.

I will be the legal age to be President in 2016, so I'm throwing my hat in the ring right now. Vote for me and I'll make you waffles in the morning.

Don't other countries have rules about not campaigning until x amount of time before the election? Why can't we do this? Why can't we ever do anything right?

Warner is incredibly electable. Southern "moderate" governor with success both privately (this is huge) and in the public sector. Experience as both a governor who presided over a balanced budget and a senator from a purple state. White male with common name, articulate yet able to speak down to dumb people... he's got an awful lot going for him on a national platform.

The breakfast party doesn't want you to have freedom, or liberty. They want you to bow down to their socialist morning agenda.

Everybody knows bacon leads to death. Why does my opponent want you dead? When elected, I promise not only the bacon, but that bacon will be reclassified as a vegetable by the FDA. Followed by a light lunch of a case of beer and a full, freshly slaughtered cow, cooked only long enough to sear. Those are vegetables, also, by the way.

Will he pass a purity test? Sign a loyalty oath? You're going with a moderate for the GOP nod? Really?

Elizabeth Warren will probably take it. The lesson to be gained is that Republicans tactics don't work when you run someone who isn't white and/or a guy. The Democrats will make a lot of headway if they put a woman in the Presidency while the Republicans...well, if they're still around, they'll be playing with their own poo while making more threats anyway.

Good money on 2016 being taken by a woman candidate.

Let me guess - more Hillary Clinton speculation?

For the first time since 1981 we have a White House with nobody named Bush or Clinton in either of the top two seats.

If it came down to H. Clinton vs. J. Bush in 2016 I believe I would choose armed revolution.

James!: I'm already thinking about the 2020 election. Zorg the Mankiller will clench the Martian Party nomination. Take that to the bank.

Nobody is going to take Zorg the Mankiller seriously after his flip-flopping on android partnership rights. Plus, we all know he wasn't at the conquest of Olympus Mons colony, so he really doesn't deserve the title "Mankiller" or half of his medals. Vendar the Indestructible will rip him to shreds.

Are you kidding me? The resurrection of Newt Gingrich as the Great White Conservative Hope alone has been the LULZIEST thing since McGovern was the candidate of Acid, Amnesty, and Abortion. And the fun has really just started.

Well, that's just stupid. Bill Clinton was the leader of the party from the Convention in1992 till election night in 2008. Barack Obama will be the leader of the party until the next Democrat is elected president. If Obama is re-elected (snicker) he will be in his early 50s and retired in 2016. Of COURSE he'll be a force in the primary, even if President Warren starts strong in January of 2017.

You're all wrong. Zarr'Mul Destroyer of Worlds, Bringer of Darkness and Pain is the obvious winner in 2016. I mean he single-handedly defeated the combined armies of the Jupiter/Saturn/Neptune alliance. Plus he fitted us all with those nifty mind control so it's not like we have much of a choice.

Understandable mistake, I've often heard Palin referred to similarly.

Obama doesn't even need that. If he loses this year's election, he could run again in 2016 or another election after that and pull a Grover Cleveland.

/not to be confused with pulling a Cleveland Steamer, which is what will happen if the Republicans win this election

2012-02-06 03:28:44 PM
This is why we need to switch to unscheduled parliamentary elections, where you don't know when you'll have to campaign until the public is absolutely fed up with your shiat.

/and have several political parties
//including a genuinely liberal one
