One would think those guys would concentrate on figuring out how to refine some of that oil they sell so they don't have to worry about supply of gasoline shut off through sanctions.

They have a lot of mountain terrain, and a decent climate for grapes, they should be growing wine. Then they could screw the damn frenchies.

Refine their own sweet crude and they don't need nuke energy for civilian purposes. Hell, the amount of oil they have they could probably finance their own green initiatives so they don't pollute all that much either and still power themselves for hundreds of years.

Naw, let's risk getting attacked for "peacefull nuclear". Yea, that's the ticket.

Meh, they are probably doing this to unify their own people under threat of attack from the eeeevil West and the Joobs.
