Didn't Tebow beat his sorry Green Mile ass?

2012-02-06 11:25:47 AM
But they did win. When they were cheating. So your tweet makes no sense.

2012-02-06 11:45:13 AM
The Giants did a very smart job of cheating by putting 12 guys out there at the end of the game last night.

Also, Harrison is quite the rulebreaker in his own right.

This asshole again?

Yeah, he should be talking.

He basically outs himself two tweets later when he admits he's just begging for attention with this nonsense.

So clearly the only sane course of action is to pay a lot of attention and discuss it ad nauseam making many references to Mr. Harrison's many character flaws and penchant for breaking the NFL's new found rules about helmet to helmet contact. Don't let him down Fark, pay attention to him.

Belichick always looks like he's struggling to rip a fart...

So, article, let me understand this - two-bit player not involved in the Super Bowl in any way sends a disparaging tweet, one which would've gone unnoticed by most folks, except for you trumpeting it to the rest of the world?

Article, you crazy. What you're saying here is "The Patriots cheat! No, I didn't say that - some other guy did, really. I'm just quoting it less than a day after the end of a disappointing Super Bowl."

This, basically.

Tommy C's best move of the game :)

That was a little weird, actually. The way the timing rules work is that if the offense commits a penalty, there is a 10 second runoff. But on defense, they can commit a penalty ensuring that the play will be unsuccessful and also that time runs off the clock. I wouldn't mind seeing the 2-minute rules changed such that if the defense commits a penalty and the offense accepts it, the clock is reset as if the prior play did not happen at all.

I would not be surprised at all if the rule was changed accordingly. The Giants should have been committing all sorts of illegal contact and defensive holding penalties as well.

Full credit to Coughlin though. That was a brilliant move and he pulled one over on Belichick of all guys.

I wouldn't mind that rule, but as they are now...when it comes down to it, if it was deliberate, it was a good move by the Giants. Also, plenty of plays have been successful throughout time when the defense had 12 guys on the field, I'm sure.

Cant win it all after they are stopped from cheating at least

2012-02-06 12:00:44 PM
But, they did win while they were cheating...

I mean, perhaps he could've said something like "People who cheat get bad karma and then, later in life, they suffer the consequences of their actions, thus losing when they had the chance as a penalty for their prior actions".

I don't know how much of that he could fit on twitter though.

2× Super Bowl champion (XL, XLIII)
5× Pro Bowl (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)
4× All-Pro (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010)
2008 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year

"Two-bit player"? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

The game cannot end on a defensive penalty. I only know this because years ago the cheifs tried to kick a fg and missed it at the end of the game but a browns player took his helmet off before the timer and got a penalty for it, giving the cheifs one more play which then was a good fg winning the game.

I think that's how it went it was a long time ago and I only saw highlights.

As a Giants fan, I'm glad they put 12 men out there and took the penalty. I would have traded yardage for those precious seconds left anywhere, anytime. As an NFL fan, it concerns me.

I think after seeing it in the Superbowl, there are going to be defenses that want to run out as much clock as possible, and try that 12 men stuff again. I think it should be a yardage penalty, an automatic first down, and the clock resets to the original time left before the penalty.

Is there any valdity to the idea they put 12 on the field on purpose?

If that's the case why didn't they put 20 on the field?

2012-02-06 12:10:56 PM
James Harrison is pumped full of more roids than Ivan Drago, and he's won two superbowls, so his tweet doesn't make much sense. Cheaters win all the time.

It took time off the clock that the Pats never got back. It was as "valid" as intentional rule breaking can be.

As for your 2nd question, I don't know. I suspect that the play MIGHT have been whistled dead (with no time off the clock) if there were 20 men on the field, that's blatantly obvious. Twelve, maybe the ref sees only 11 and lets the play go on.

They ;may have. They may not have. If they did, good call though. I think they may get more than a five yard penalty for 20 men on the field. Some sort of unsportsmanlike penalty may be assessed in that situation.

Putting 12 on the field is a normal foul.

Putting 20 on the field is blatant cheating and is an unfair act that can be punished by any measure the referee deems appropriate.

James Harrison has never failed an NFL drug test in his career, so your comment is not only stupid but slanderous as well.

"Told you cheaters never win111"

Says the bullett headed freak who was probably sailed through every class since it was known he had an ability to place his empty head into things without being injured, and injure the things he hit. While numerous people worked hard to get to, through, pay for, and succeed in college, this guy was probably hand held through every thing he has ever done in life off the field. I only say that because he looks dumber than cat shiat, and every time he opens his mouth off the field, he seems to reinforce the belief of mine.

There's less than 1% chance it was on purpose.

Also a steeler fan. He is simultaneously a moron and a standout player. But I'm not having him to my house for dinner. The man has some character flaws. He also has a superb nfl resume and as sparkling a list of individual nfl individual achievements as you're likely to see from a linebacker so it's possible he doesn't give two shiats what I or anyone else thinks of his character flaws.

/we're rooting for laundry - if you think your team doesn't employee some brain-dead neanderthals you either haven't looked at the roster closely enough or the one they have just aren't that good.

1) According to the internets, it does not give them a free timeout.
2) There were 17 seconds left in the game when they did it and the Pats were 60 yards away. I'm pretty sure the Giants would have been ecstatic to hold them to 15 yards with the time lost.
3) The plays before that were a completion across the middle and then clocking the ball. After clocking the ball, there was plenty of time for the Giants, meaning there was plenty of time to prepare for their next defensive play.
4) All 12 were lined up ready to go, it wasn't a guy running off the field barely doesn't in time sort of deal.

So I mean, I think there's a really really good chance it was on purpose.

People say that Belichick was smart in allowing the TD. Coughlin out Belichicked Beclichick by doing that.

When I saw that penalty last night, I said to myself this WILL be fixed by the competition committee in the off-season.
