Rule #1 - THERE IS NO ESCUSE FOR ALLOWING A SAFETY

Ahem, Tom Brady...

2012-02-05 10:00:31 PM
This one.

2012-02-05 10:02:41 PM
He is now. He's also The Brady Killer.

Well, that was weird. Scoring a touchdown by accident?

simplicimus: Well, that was weird. Scoring a touchdown by accident?

That was actually a smart gamble. Brady is usually pretty good at game winning drives.

I love seeing the backup from Michigan lose, plus this is karma for the Pats cutting a player on Super Bowl eve.

that safety at the beginning was huge. That doesn't happen, Brady can drive to win it with a field goal, much different game.

Since I submitted this exact headline 5 minutes later, (I didn't see this one first), it gets my upvote.

The safety was weird. Blowing a timeout on that challenge was weird. Strange game. How popular is the Pats coach in MA?

2012-02-05 10:28:44 PM
You know, that's actually strange. Eli now has a legitimate claim that he's better than Peyton. You would get laughed at, a lot, if you said this before the start of the season.

that I understood. when I first saw the play it looked like he was out of bounds.

From what I saw, he was in bounds. Now did he have control of the ball? apparently so.

It was questionable and the Pats might not get the ball back if they hit the FG as time expired, as was likely. It wasn't a bad challenge IMO.

This one, Modmins!

ELI!!!!!

HOTTY TODDY BIATCHES!

2012-02-05 11:02:27 PM
THANKY!

2012-02-05 11:03:37 PM
I'd hand it to the Giant's D-line, but yeah, Eli did great.

2012-02-05 11:04:25 PM
So after watching the highlight video (didn't get a chance to watch the game), wtf is up with all that showboating? Was the Giant's last TD "run" that farking necessary?

/Fark the Pats anyway

2012-02-05 11:05:29 PM
Why do I keep reading that Eli fired the winning touchdown. Bradshaw ran it in.

Great game!

2012-02-05 11:05:46 PM
I'd give Tuck the MVP though.

You had to see the whole game

Just like in Super Bowl XLII, right?

I live in Indy and it has been an absolute blast this last week with all the festivities. The Giants winning it all was the icing on the cake. I don't care which Manning wins it - as long as the Pats don't win in LOS.

That wasn't showboating. That was the "Accidental Touchdown" everyone was talking about. Bradshaw was trying to sit down and AVOID scoring because there was too much time left.

Maybe Peyton could be Elis backup next year?

And 40/1 for the first Giants score. I won $400 bucks on that one. Today was a very, very good day.

Not a Giants fan. Not a Manning fan. But as a football fan I think a great case can be made for Eli being the best 4th quarter/clutch QB in the league. He gets my vote.

2012-02-05 11:07:28 PM
I saw this win coming a mile away, but I have to say that I take back any reservations I had about Eli. I thought the game would be more sack-y and turnover-y, but Eli pulled it off again.

/easiest money ever

Someone needs to cache this (new window); the current front page for the University of Mississippi's athletics site.

My headlines never seem to get picked, but tell me this one isn't aweome:
Satan still collecting on Red Sox 2004 miracle comeback

2012-02-05 11:08:22 PM
Peyton is/was definitely better.

When Eli can string together a few 10+ win seasons and actually puts up some numbers during the year - we'll talk. He's still on that 2nd tier QB rung if his career ends today.

Two Super bowls and two MVPs is 2nd tier still?

Huh, I thought that was paid in full with the Sox's September collapse. I was assuming that this was payment on the deal for the Bruins' Cup win.

Agreed. I would have made the challenge, and I am a Giants fan. That was too close to NOT throw the red flag, and the Pats had 3 timeouts available at that point.

First Patriots then Giants accidentally the Superbowl.

2012-02-05 11:12:20 PM
Congratulations to America's favorite team, "Whoever is playing the Patriots"

It's like the Miami Heat losing all over again. We all unite in our hated, (and a pretty good team wins)

No, it's all about the regular season. There's a memo and everything.

That, truly that.

If the Giants don't win it next year, let the Pats win it then.

So proud... So happy... So relieved...

Thanks, Giants. You did us lifelong fans proud.

As a Charger fan, I'll always hold a minor grudge against Eli, but holy shiat what a game. Eli earned himself a spot in Canton for that one.

Yeah, but he had Rush Limbaugh in his box to comfort him, soooo...

That team that beat the Heat sure was a good team.

Eli is and will always be a little biatch in my eyes for the shiat he pulled before being drafted.

Yeah, just like that other loser.... John Elway.

I think almost all the people that were genuinely excited about this game at the outset live east of the Mississippi and north of the Mason-Dixon line.

That said, I hatriot the Patriots. If they lose, it's a reasonably good day.

Eli Manning is unstoppable.

Boston sports radio is going to be awesome tomorrow
