I'll hope that this guy gets noticed by big entertainment, makes a million or 10 doing stunts, and gets out alive. I hear that Cirque du Soleil is always looking for talent. Get an agent, kid.

I was wondering how bad life must suck in Russia that you don't care whether you live or die. I noticed a lot of these crazy climbing videos from Russia.
The Russian EMT trucks must be the only one in the world equipped with a spatula.

Forearms. He got pumped, just like rock climbers do, and at the worst possible place, the parapet headwall found on too many otherwise easily-climbed buildings.

I'm guessing he may have been in the later days of the old government Olympic training programs - taken to a gymnastics training center as a young child but then the money ran out and the program scrapped. Now it's the only skill he has and the only way to relieve the oppressive bleakness of Russian life.

No snark, honest, but what, exactly do you base this on?
The guy is doing high risk stunts 50 feet above the ground. I would certainly think the opportunity for him dying goes up expotentially.

Given the number of "Russian kid(s) doing something dangerous" videos that have been posted on Fark, I'd say that's a fairly valid theory.
Remember this video of the Russian kids messing around at the top of an abandoned transmission tower?

The guy became a superhuman around the 4:00 mark - cultural backdrops notwithstanding, this type of acrobatics/gymnastics/etc is a fantastic example of merging ones physical capabilities with a mental focus... This is as much a sport as any other Olympic event IMO...

these Parkour videos are all the same... cool for about the first minute then it gets boring, repetitive and uselessly has some shiatty trance music that makes it so i have to mute it. I do give them a fair chance though.

Im pretty sure Alex would be quite impressed with the Russian guy sticking flips on the edges of buildings 50-100 feet off the ground. I also bet Alex wouldn't do it, and I'm sure he can flip just fine.

One day, he's going to find one of those metal frames that comes loose from those walls. Or one of those aluminum edge plates whe does flips on will give way right under his feet.

I would be jealous of his ability but then its going to lead to him being a greasy smear on a patch of parking lot waaaaaay faster than it leads him to a better life.

These guys are always impressive. But, notice how it's never look at this old dude that's been free climbing for 30 years? There's reasons it's a young man's game.
That video of the guy climbing the antenna tower always gets me. But, I think it has a lot to do with the perspective of the camera. His head moving around like that makes it seem much less stable than it is. Not that I'd ever do something like that, but I'd still use two safety ropes and be tying off to everything I could.

Look, a male attention whore!
Meh, usually when we dub a girl an attention whore, we're calling her out for showing off her femaleness. All women have boobs, attention whores just whip 'em out more often. The girl doing a handstand on the beach is doing something just about anybody can do, but with a nice body. It's one of those moments where you say, "So you're not content with being beautiful, you have to do routine tricks to make yourself look even better."
How many people can do what this kid is doing?

I heard once that native americans have no fear of heights and were therefore sought out in early skyscraper construction in cities. Maybe there's some truth to a genetic predisposition for not fearing heights.
