Newt Gingrich believes he has politics in his future too.
Doesn't make it true.

2012-02-05 12:13:33 AM
I can see the ticket already: Bachmann-Tebow Overdrive.

2012-02-05 12:29:50 AM
More likely than quarterbacking, anyway.

2012-02-05 12:37:16 AM
Sure. Why ever have a real job?

2012-02-05 12:42:56 AM
Of course there is. You've got 60% of whatever area you decide to run in who will vote for you automatically because you share the same delusion as them.

2012-02-05 12:51:01 AM
with that sort of charisma, charm, and that set of beliefs?

Scary tag would have been appropriate here.

2012-02-05 01:01:22 AM
Medieval belief system, and a virgin. Sounds like a Pope to me.

2012-02-05 01:17:29 AM
I care greatly about this important information.

2012-02-05 01:19:40 AM
Wait until he finds out about the horrific knee injury Jesus has planned for him.

2012-02-05 01:38:54 AM
Does ESPN know this? Can't wait for the Sportscenter updates from the campaign trail, ugh.

True, but at least Gingrich can throw a spiral.

A fundamentalist Christian that knows more about sports and Jesus than about the government? He's a shoe in for Republican politics.

Yeah, but then he'll have a life changing thing that Jesus helped him overcome and he will speak about this experience ad nauseam to any network that will show his face.

/and they will eat it up

This is more win than Tebow ever has.

Romney/Tebow 2012?

That's just another obstacle to overcome. He was born in the Philippines, so that's already a challenge.

If he yearns to be as renowned a politician as Heath Shuler, who am I to judge?

2012-02-05 03:55:34 AM
I like the guy, but no. He needs to take a cue from the last "good Christian" UF quarterback Danny Wuerffel and go work quietly for a charity after he leaves football.

2012-02-05 04:15:09 AM
I bet he thought a Super Bowl could be in his future, a month ago.

2012-02-05 04:53:47 AM
Because he likes Jesus too much or because he collapses under the influence of Patriots?

Tim Tebow is coming to speak in my hometown soon.

I need trolling ideas.

davidphogan: That's just another obstacle to overcome. He was born in the Philippines, so that's already a challenge.

This little gem also makes me pissed off even more than I already was at his super bowl anti-abortion ad:

Tebow was born in Makati City in the Philippines, to American parents who were serving as Baptist missionaries at the time. His mother, Pamela Elaine (née Pemberton), is the daughter of a U.S. Army colonel, and his father, Robert Ramsey Tebow II, is a pastor.[1][10][11][12][13][14] While pregnant, his mother suffered a life-threatening infection with a pathogenic amoeba. Because of the drugs used to rouse her from a coma and to treat her dysentery, the fetus experienced a severe placental abruption. Doctors had expected a stillbirth and recommended an abortion, even though illegal in the Phillipines, to protect her life,[1] but she decided not to have one. (wiki)

I'm sure this was somewhat common knowledge but I just found out about it.
This is on par with me saying I saved the city of San Francisco from the plague because there is no plague in the united states.

"I don't know -- it could be something in my future," Tebow said, according to Politico. "If it's something I care about, possibly."

Wow. Sounds like he'll be announcing his candidacy for president any day now.

During the Q&A ask if Republican Jesus would smite the unbelievers.

You think Newt vs. Romney was bad? Try a Florida primary that divides itself along Noles-Gators lines.

Anyway, I really don't think Tim Tebow understands how off-putting he is to people who don't care about sports. The douchiness, the ego, the attention whoring and narcissism come off this mommas-boy in little wavy lines you can almost see.

No thank you--I'd rather vote for Ron Paul. Or eat glass, same difference.

Hey, Timmy, how about you focus on getting one year when you can throw for more than 100 yards per game, then we'll talk.

-BTW, my son doesn't like you bothering him now that he's finally got third base in sight with that Magdalene chick, so knock it the fark off.

Because he's exposed as a hack by Patriots but the Dunning-Kruger effect prevents him from noticing.

I had to look that one up; thanks for the laugh. Since it's Sunday I'm thinking that might be a good Facebook status update. Not the actual verse, just "Ezekiel 23:20"

He'd have a lot more influence as the head of a Norquist-style PAC casting judgment on those who didn't vote with enough Jesus -- plus he'd be unelected and able to pay himself a mindbending salary with no real obligations.

Anything under U.S. Senator and you spend 99% of your time raising money and kissing asses.

2012-02-05 07:48:59 AM
With his missionary background and knack for selfless teamwork, I'd say he'd run as a progressive

2012-02-05 07:51:40 AM
I'd suspected he was modeling himself after football great Heath Schuler. This is just confirmation.

2012-02-05 07:51:59 AM
Also in his future is a tear-filled apology to his fans and supporters in the wake of that big scandal with the male prostitutes.

What? Am I the only one who sees that? I dare you to take a good hard look at Tebow and tell me he's not suppressing some serious fabulousness.

She trusted Jesus, and Jesus pulled her through. This is why "medically necessary" abortions are just as wicked as the ones sought by harlots for birth control, because it shows you don't trust the Lord to take care of you. Tim knows that legal abortion encourages people to abandon Jesus for the secular Mammon of doctors and medical science, which is why he opposes it.

/I'm sure there are people who really believe this.

I saw this on Feherhty Live last night. He and Feherty were having a general discussion about life outside of and after football. Tebow was giving the standard "I don't know what God has planned for me" answer and Feherty brought up politics.

Feherty said (I'm paraphrasing) "I mean Gingrich and Romney? C'mon. They have faces that you just want to keep punchin'."

Tebow was pretty noncommittal about his future.
