Yes, please.

I'm telling you, that show would garner more attention than most of the ads. It would be awesome and it would keep people watching instead of pissing, jerking off, or refilling the kegerator.

Make this happen!

2012-02-04 09:03:44 PM
I'd watch this.

2012-02-04 09:23:25 PM
If all he did was come out and play the accordion, we'd still have to go back to 2007 and Prince to find a better performance.

Still surprised nobody got all high and mighty about the guitar penis show.

2012-02-04 09:39:09 PM
F*ck and yeah.

2012-02-04 10:10:43 PM
I am all for this. As are his parents.

I thought Springsteen and Petty were good.

Maybe, but I don't remember them at all. It's only when I looked up the year for Prince that I found they both played in the years after. So I'm going with they don't count.

I'm all for this, but only if Al finally gets to sing one of his Prince parodies.

In fact, the whole halftime show could be a parody of Prince's 2007 show, and Al could have his own guitar penis gag... maybe with a dangling accordion.

A Weird Al halftime show would not only be the best thing to happen to football since the introduction of the ball, it would serve to restore my faith in mankind.

Umm... is that your usual half-time schedule?

2012-02-05 12:14:43 AM
On second thought I don't want to know.

2012-02-05 12:17:09 AM
That might well be the only idea I've ever heard that would get me to watch part of the superbowl

Sometimes he gets things mixed up. It's tough cleaning jizz out of a kegerator.

2012-02-05 12:47:21 AM
Oh hells yeah!

2012-02-05 12:52:54 AM
I'll say this though.

A Weird Al Halftime show would have me GLUED to that tv. And I normally switch over to something else like the puppy bowl when the halftime show is on (although like I said, I liked Springsteen and Petty).

2012-02-05 01:07:44 AM
Nah, not controversial enough. I say we completely provoke the Baby Boomer set, throw off their washed-up, old-coot yoke, and hit them full force with the Bloodhound Gang. Or maybe Rage Against The Machine, they can do another naked PMRC protest.

Weird Al is better than nothing, certainly better than the crap they've put out over the last decade, but if you're going to break the mold go big.

2012-02-05 01:58:50 AM
Maybe a Wierd Al / Lonely Island Collaboration? Just to attract the younger crowd that doesn't remember "I'm Fat" or the yoda song.

2012-02-05 02:26:22 AM
I can not be the only one who thinks Rush playing the halftime show would rock.

2012-02-05 03:32:27 AM
I was thinking Neil Diamond, but I approve of Weird Al too.

/how about a polka rendition of Sweet Caroline?

2012-02-05 03:50:38 AM
Anyone else think "Holy SH*T what happened to Al?!" for a split second when they saw the first pic?

2012-02-05 03:54:29 AM
Sadly, I'd have to say that this year, as much of a joke as it would be to have Weird Al (and a great performance at that), the real joke is the actual game itself. So damn disappointed with who ended up in the Super Bowl, mostly with the Giants, but damn it all so much, this season had potential!

This is stupid.

Pssst. He's put out stuff since then, and its still selling well.

This is one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time. Please let it happen.

How is a rematch of one of the biggest upsets in NFL history a joke?

I knew who it was before I clicked on the link. Well to be more specific, I read the headline and he was the first people to pop into my head... then I thought subby was trolling so I tried to think of who else it could be. Like Justin Beiber or something. Lucky for me subby wasn't trolling.

2012-02-05 04:28:05 AM
That's not Devo and Oingo Boingo on the same stage.

2012-02-05 04:31:07 AM
even better idea...hold the Superb Owl in AL-bequerque!

SilentStrider: I can not be the only one who thinks Rush playing the halftime show would rock.

This is what I expected when I clicked on the link. Amused to see Weird Al. I'm not part of the Fark Weird Al Brigade, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in the superb owl halftime show. Broad appeal, amusing, allegedly quite talented...

2012-02-05 06:18:28 AM
I'd kill for The Black Keys to do a halftime show.

2012-02-05 06:27:24 AM
I'm in. Where do I sign?

2012-02-05 06:28:21 AM
Weird Al might well be the only name they could have said that I would agree with. Brava Mr writerguy, brava.

RATM would be awesome, and while I love BHG no way could they pull off a half-time show. I think it's time to try to quit appeasing the older people watching and bring in some heavy rock groups from this (90s-00s) generation.

2012-02-05 07:03:46 AM
Well the nerds seems to be down with this idea, now let's see about the rest of America. I assume he wouldn't piss off the people at large.

Yankovic sucks.

As I have repressed any and all memory of that day from hell, other than it scaring the living fark out of me today, I can neither confirm nor deny the quality of Tom Petty's show.

\other than the crotch shot Bruce was good
\\The Who sucked, and if it were allowed to say BEP was good on Fark I would

Best In The World: Best options would b:
Pitbull
LMFAO
Gaga
Tiesto
Bazooka Joe & Illogic
Snoop & Dre

Madonna iz an ill choice 2. She'll get tha biatches @ ur parrrrty on tha pole

Almost bit on this, but I've lurked in too many threads to forget that name.

Here's a better idea,
Get rid of the stupid halftime show.
It kills the flow of the game, it's usually lame (no matter who is performing) and I didn't tune in to watch a musical act.
I just want football for my football game.

2012-02-05 08:39:03 AM
AC/DC would be fantastic

2012-02-05 08:46:09 AM
Add me to the pro-Weird Al contingent. That would absolutely AWESOME. Hell, why not have Rage Against The Machine and Katy Perry up there with him at the same time? Just for maximum lulz, of course.

But yes, Weird Al for the Superb Owl Halftime Show!

Yes, thank you. I could not agree more. Go back to Super Bowl I- have a 12 minute halftime (like every other NFL game). You want entertainment in between commercials? Fine, here's a dog catching a Frisbee. Be entertained by that.

And now, back to the damn game.

2012-02-05 08:53:51 AM
Why not do a half time show with cheerleaders bouncing on trampolines.

I am saying this as a straight, married female.

Who jerks it during the Super Bowl? That's straight up odd bro.

2012-02-05 09:01:32 AM
Weird all would be a great pick for the halftime show, but my choice for best available would be the Foo-FIghters. High energy songs, a ton of recognizable hits in the catalog, and by all accounts a scorching live act.

2012-02-05 09:07:30 AM
Best In The World: LMFAO

Which is funny, because they're supposed to be up there with Madonna tonight.

2012-02-05 09:07:44 AM
If I recall, the Giants got whooped up on twice this year by the Redskins, arguably one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. It's hardly a rematch, it's a farking joke. Also, halftime shows suck.

2012-02-05 09:18:53 AM
I just want the Bud Bowl back :( (I never stick around for halftime shows, and I've been avoiding the pre-game and pre-show for years, as well)

2012-02-05 09:20:57 AM
Bring back Up With People.

Make it so.
