'The Lord, Jesus Christ, would not allow his child to wear that shirt,'
Oh great, another fundamentalist holier-than-thou. You do remember Jesus defended the prostitute from the pharisees, right Mr. Skate Rink Owner? Or are you reading the other wholly-true, God-inspired passage as Paul wrote that "everything was permissible but not beneficial" ? Because if that's the truth then Jesus would permit it. Hell, Jesus stayed in the temple after his parents left when he was 12. He tore through the temple marketeers like cheap toilet paper because he thought it was an insult. Or are we talking the same Jesus that turned water into wine only a few chapters later to say that his blood was the wine? Yes that's right, an intoxicating beverage which what we call "minors" today were allowed to consume.

I don't know, I don't think The Lord, Jesus Christ, would allow his children to perform blasphemy by zipping across water.
It's taking The Lord's miracles in vain.

Well of course not. They would have worn tunics or pristine flowing robes of the finest cotton with "ass, grass or cash-nobody rides for free" on them.
I like the shirt, I love the message it sends, but it was only a matter of time before it ruffled some troglodyte's feathers.

"The Lord, Jesus Christ, would not allow his child to wear that shirt ..."
A. The Son o' God reportedly did not have any children.
B. But of course he wouldn't have worn that tee shirt. It would have been written in Aramaic or Hebrew,
C. Did not Christ have breasts?

this was going on here last year. all three of my kids sport the bracelets and they know about breast cancer. my take on it is cancer sucks and the female breast is a beautiful thing not to be wasted. we had the same problem with "outraged" parents contacting the local television stations which in turn to get ratings did a whole segment on it.

On one hand, the shirt isn't really offensive, and I don't see why the kid shouldn't be allowed to wear it.
On the other hand, this is a teenage boy, so let's not pretend his motivation was raising awareness for breast cancer as opposed to wearing a shirt that said 'boobies' on it.

Why not get a shirt that says "Support Breast cancer awareness" which would be much more acceptable for all....hmmm, let me guess because it's not as "shocking" right?

I want to agree with this, but do you really think this would have turned out any differently if the shirt read "I Love Mammary Glands" or "I Love Female Breasts"?
There are plenty of people to whom breasts are primarily sexual objects, which is where the embarrassment comes from.

Now, the whole thing about bringing Jesus and religion into it is just plain idiotic. Using the Lord's name in vain can be interpreted different ways. He should think about that before opening his stupid mouth.

If a guy wears a shirt stating "I heart boobies", it is a pretty much pointless statement since most guys love breasts, and it would just be assumed that a random guy walking down the street would love breasts (except if he was gay, which still is no guarantee that such a person does not love breasts). A woman wearing such a shirt would be a turn-on (think three-ways, etc). The same cannot be said about balls for anything.

Okay, well some things are just considered inappropriate. More so by some than others.
I mean, I could have one printed that says 'My tits are D-delicious, support breast cancer reasearch' and that would be crass, right?

Actually, he doesn't have the right, even if its a private rink, if it is being rented by someone. If you rent the rink for a 3 hour party, its your place for that span of time, he's just the hired help. Sort of like if you were renting an apartment - your landlord couldn't come in and make your kid change the shirt - same deal. If they had rented the rink, the guy is absolutely an overzealous fundie and deserves the business he loses for his moral presumptuousness. If they hadn't, he's still a dick who needs to stfu and turn the other cheek.

I think what you were looking for is <3 ? You have to type it as "& lt;3" (without the space - Fark is auto-converting that into <, making it rather useless to illustrate how to type it) - Fark takes straight HTML, and an < opens a tag; it auto closes any tags opened, so that you don't fark up the whole page.

So, what have we learned in the past week? The correct responses are to:
A) Get upset when religious fundamentalists
don't
support an anti-breast cancer campaign, and
B) Get upset when religious fundamentalists
do
support an anti-breast cancer campaign.
Will you people make up your damned minds?
