I thought subby was kidding but... wow.

Dude raids even his help.

Damn.

I wonder if this guy is responsible for Romneys "I enjoy being able to fire people" line?

2012-02-04 06:45:56 PM
It says a lot about how the Romney campaign operates that a debate coach has seen his services no longer required for being too successful.

this sort of behavior was quite common in the final century of Rome's decline and eventual collapse.

There's no more debates for a few months. So, lay the guy off, and hire him back as a contractor for less pay and no benefits in a few months. Seems to be the 'corporate America' thing to do, actually.

Seriously, the Republicans are just trolling the US with this shiat. They have to be in on it, the whole lot of them. Life has got to be imitating that South Park episode, "About Last Night", only on a grand scale, because there is no way this entire election is non-scripted.

2012-02-04 07:28:47 PM
He got fired?

What do I win?

Obama will clean Romney's proverbial clock in the debates.

I'm wondering if that guy will go back to work for Romney after the convention except this time he intentionally makes Romney fark up.

He likes being able to fire people who provide services to him.

FTFA: So, in recognition for a job well done, O'Donnell will not have a permanent position with the Romney campaign, according to Politico. It seems O'Donnell's contributions have become too well known to the media. That did not sit well with Romney staffers, who were envious of O'Donnell. Also it seems the required narrative is Romney pulled himself out of the tailspin, with no one else's help.

Good grief, its barely February and already the Romney campaign is imploding from its own hubris.

A little off-topic, but:

Does anyone else feel weird discussing the Republican candidates? It's all so pointless. They don't have a chance in hell, yet so much time and money is wasted on them.

Imagine if all the money spent on the Republican campaigns was donated to cancer research. Or a children's hospital. That would be worthwhile. The candidates, and every donor to the campaign, should be ashamed of themselves for perpetuating this farce.

I wonder if Trump gave Romney a good line to use...

Damnit, GOP. Nobody expects the President to be the know-it-all for every subject. Part of what I look for is someone who understands how to recruit and retain people that know what's up so they can make informed decisions based on expert opinion.

Remember when Hillary Clinton hired that guy who thought state delegates weren't winner-take-all to manage her campaign strategy in 2008? Then after it came to light that he was incompetent she refused to get someone else who knew WTF is going on? That lost my vote for her.

He'll outsource overseas. At the next debate, he'll be incomprehensible, but very polite.

Yeah, but Romney (and Gingrich too for that matter) seem insecure almost down to the molecular level. Only a massively insecure person fires someone who did their job well and only a paranoid son of a biatch would see competency as a threat.

He is weird. It's because his whole life has been sheltered and processed and filled with nothing but religion and money. He hasn't ever had to socialize with anything even *approaching* normal people.

He's essentially a robot. He has no thoughts of his own - he's just a product of his influences. He goes through the motions.

Romney is just too good at cutting jobs, he can't help himself.

Unlike the Usurper, who's a lazy good-for-nothing.

What really happened is the dude was spending too much time bragging "I SAVED ROMNEY'S CAMPAIGN!"

And Romney was like "Dude that's not what I hired you for" so he fired his ass.

That might be plausible and firing him under those circumstances would be fair. Do you have any references to this guy boasting like this?

Where exactly did anyone say that Romney wasn't allowed to fire this guy? Heck, where in the article does it even comment that he was wrong/stupid to do so?

the narrative on this is spun as "he was too good at his job so they fired him." The actual facts are just that he did a good job, but they're not giving him a full-time permanent position on the campaign. The rest of it is just mean-spirited speculation from a media determined to have Obama for another term.

Obama's campaign ads just keep writing themselves. Mix this in with some "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me*," and a pinch of "Let Detroit go bankrupt," and serve. "Romney destroys success" narrative, in 30 seconds.

*Yes, on the one hand, this would be taken slightly out of context. On the other hand, fark 'em.

Guys remember. This is a candidate who is having trouble identifying with the blue collar working man. Who is constantly saying things like "bet you $10,00" and "I'm not worried about poor people" and who this week just fell over himself when he got Trump's endorsement. So he's really good at making bad decisions. He's probably been very fortunate to have had people take care of his money for him or he'd be broke. Lord knows if he wasn't born into money he'd be an insurance salesman.

Nah, no worries. Although there are laws governing the reasons why you may not fire someone, No one is suggesting whom Romney may or may not fire. The "liberal media" is simply mocking Romney for firing someone who has been doing his job well.
... because he's a stupid Republican.

Oh bullshiat.

This is just more of the rich man Romney hates working people meme. His FL debate performance didn't do anything. Romney already had a big poll lead by then.

Newt got the same ride all the other not Romneys got. Newt got some hype, got a poll bump surge, people took a second look at him and most said no. Now the socon Repubs are all out of not Romneys. Ron Paul doesn't count.

Gee, if Obama's such a shoo-in, why doesn't he donate all that campaign cash to Planned Parenthood (motto: Give Us Money And Nobody Gets Hurt Except Nonsentient Uh, Tissue), or help for the two-headed children or whatever?

This may be antithetical to current Republicans as there is a focus on idealogical purity not so much what can be derived from observable facts. Thus you get statements that indicate a severe disconnect from reality. I think one of the Bush administration officials said something like "Experts rely on reality to come to conclusions. Well we create our own reality through force of will."
