Yes, there were isolated AIDS cases in the 60s and 70s.

I wouldn't doubt that they lean left (I don't know this) and want to appear "fair" by making sure the left gets close to the same amount of Pants on Fire when in fact they shouldn't because the right are shameless in their lying and to skew it so it is "balanced" makes Politifact essentially worthless.
