You have to imagine that after YEARS of playing the same character and worrying about being typecast for life, the pressure would get to you. Him being drunk makes a LOT of sense to me.

Not an uncommon problem with young British folks, given the younger age for drinking and a very popular tavern culture in English cities.

I'm glad he got past it and is owning up to it...though now I have to imagine that the whole "Liquid Luck" scene in HBP was filmed while he was buzzed.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the rape scene from the Chamber of Secrets between Harry and Professor Lockhart. It's on the Hong Kong DVD.
