He knew exactly what he was saying and said it exactly how he wanted to say it. Stop lying Mittens.

Steps when politicians say something f*cked up:

Step 1: I never said that
Ummmm we have video/audio of it

Step 2: That was taken out of context
Ok. Here's the whole speech. What you said was still bad in any context.

Step 3: I misspoke
Funny how you defended it for days if you misspoke

The bar's been set so low I'm actually a little impressed with him for being a weasel and not actively blaming the "lamestream LSM stream media streaming" for reporting what he said.

It's like when you go to a strip club at 10AM and the girl on stage only has a c-section scar, not knife or bullet wound scars. You can't help but applaud.

Schrodinger's Candidate exists in Quantum Political Superposition.

Your argument is invalid.

Mittens, you didn't mispeak. You weren't taken out of context. You spoke with your heart, and folks took you at your word. You are like Candide and believe that this is the best of all possible worlds. And to be fair, with the cash you've got lying around, it's not so bad for you...

Dumbass.

You grind them up for biofuel, not foodstuffs.

I am pretty sure Mitt Romney is a very retarded man. No one can be that out of touch and, without the proper funding, survive in the real world.

He is acting like a guy whose tax plan is not to the right of Geroge W's and a guy who has consistently worked to rig the system in favor of the super wealthy. Eat a dick, liar.

this is as obvious as the prediction that libs would be using the race card like a debit card after the last presidential election.

it seems to me the solution here is to suck every last dollar out of the middle class from the likes of Bain capital and unfair class warfare tax policies that favor the rich to get them all in the poor so Mitt Romney doesn't have to care about them anymore.

"It was a misstatement; I misspoke," Romney said, according to a transcript provided to The Fix. "I've said something that is similar to that but quite acceptable for a long time."

I don't really think that "F*CK THE POOR!" is viewed as being quite acceptable by most people...

2012-02-03 10:56:57 AM
He cares so much about poor people. He wants to make sure everyone, even the children and the invalid have jobs. And he wants the companies they work for to be able to provide housing and food for them too. And he loves them so much, he wants to make sure that they can never leave those jobs for fear of falling back into their poor-person habits.

He's been saying "I love the poor! Nothing's a more delightful romp than having Porterhouse drive the Dusenberg down to the docks and throwing handfuls of nickels at the rapscallions! They scurry like voles during a fox hunt! It's a monocle-popping good time, I say!"

depmode98: it seems to me the solution here is to suck every last dollar out of the middle class from the likes of Bain capital and unfair class warfare tax policies that favor the rich to get them all in the poor so Mitt Romney doesn't have to care about them anymore.

This. All morning I heard about the forcasts and how unemployment would not be going down. Then the real numbers came out which were double the expectations and unemployment dropped to 8.3%. If this holds up the only real argument they have, the economy, is going to drop from underneath of them. On technical merits they don't even have this as an argument because the Republicans have been actively attempting to prevent Obama from actually improving anything.

/Thought Obamas roll out of the revamped FHA mortgage refinance rules was exquisitely timed
//Now the Repubs are on record as opposing something to help distraught homeowners days before the Nevada Caucus...the state with the highest foreclosure rate in the Country.

Vodka Zombie: I am pretty sure Mitt Romney is a very retarded man. No one can be that out of touch and, without the proper funding, survive in the real world.

He's not retarded.

He's never been middle class so he doesn't know what it means. He's never had college loans. He's never had to decide what subscription bills he needs to cancel so he can put food on his family table. He's never had to worry about house or car payments. He's never had to worry about retirement. He never has to worry about being unemployed because even if he is unemployed, he's sitting on millions of dollars just generating interest.

He's not retarded, he's ignorant.

Exactly. Its not as if all of these little "incidents" are completely unrelated or on different topics. From firing people, to the 10k bet, to this latest one. They all have the same central theme and go a long way to show how Mittens actually thinks when hes not twisting in the wind.

"I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there," Romney said in the Wednesday interview. "If it needs repair, I'll fix it."

Wait, if he's not concerned about the very poor then why is he concerned about the middle class? Just let them become very poor and they'll be set.

And the worst part is when I repeated his Weeners to my (very liberal) wife she said "well he's right though, The folks at the bottom do have access to foostamps and Medicare and stuff, the people who really end up hurting are those just above them who make too much to qualify but can't afford to makes ends meet"

He DID have a point, even if he phrased it incredibly inartfully, and belongs to the party currently trying to shred that safety net.

I'm surprised any "conservative" would defend him, given that he seems to be advocating the existence of the social safety net. Presumably that includes things like welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, etc. So... congrats on your welfare-supporting Republican candidate, I guess.

Headline is funny but its obvious what Romney meant, that he felt that the safety.net for.the very poor was Ok but that the lower middle class needs more attention.

In other words, competing with.Demicrats for the entitlement vote

He did. He just happened to have phrased it in such a way to illustrate exactly how out of touch he is with most folk's experiences. His dismay is real. I do think that he genuinely doesn't understand why folks reacted.

And that dismay is sort of the point...

wait a minute....what if (What IF) we take all of America's poor and euthanize them - like we would, say, our old unwanted pets....but humanely? Maybe something like that would catch on....maybe England would see what we were doing and want us to do the same for them....to "liberate" them from their lowest of the lower class? Maybe we could take it on the road....what if kevorkian was right but just a little to narrow minded....why just the old and diseased....what about the old and in the way or the poor and pitiful? Take it on the road.....call it the Termination Equation....100 countries in a hundred days.
