Unless that was the plan all along, if the actual wife can't get pregnant. Actually adopting a kid is a long expensive process. Get someone pregnant and then either sue for custody or trick them into giving you the baby is free.

I've ALWAYS wondered about that. Why is that true? And why MATTRESSES specifically, of all things? Why is "removing a tag from a mattress" even an idea in our culture?

AFAIK it's only the retailers who cannot remove the tags once you buy the mattress you can remove the tag.
