I predict Van Halen will be touring with Black Sabbath.

Just like 1979.

In a letter posted on his website, the musician said he has been feeling "ostracised".

Musician? I thought they said he was a drummer.

Cozy, you're dead. You can't sign shiat.

Iommi once set Bill on fire. (new window)

So maybe he has a point about that whole lack of respect thing. And maybe he doesn't deserve their respect... Hell, I dunno...

Bill Ward always struck me as a bit of a dick.

Also, who the fark wrote this headline?

FTA: "Black Sabbath Bill Ward drummer delays band reunion"

Bill Ward is a great & verrrry influential drummer who has always been integral to Black Sabbath's style & sound. It would be a shame if that harpy cut him out of the reunion.

Sharon being cheap with Ozzy's ex bandmates? Color me surprised.

At least it isn't like KISS, where whoever tours with them as lead guitarist & drummer are basically indentured slaves to Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley.

Bill has had health problems over the years that have prevented him from playing/touring, but if he's healthy, I don't understand why they would be giving him the cold shoulder.

Oh yeah, Sharon.

I can get what he's saying. Even Geezer Butler has admitted that Bill Ward has been shiat upon repeatedly over the years by the Sabbath management team.

DRUMMER JOKE THREAD!

Q: How do you get a drummer off of your porch?

A: Pay for the pizza.

Q: Did you hear about the guitarist that locked his keys in the car on the way to the gig?

A: It took him an hour to get the drummer out

it isn't 1977. any musician that plays with KISS these days knows the score.

I was more referring to the guys who played with Ozzy solo. Those albums have been (badly) re-recorded to cut them out of their roylaties.

Eddie Trunk said on his show recently that Vince Neil is an employee of Motley Crue, rather than a true member of the band.

Or Mike Bordin. He did pretty good for them when Bill wasn't able to play back in '97.

Man, it really sucks that Ronnie died. There would probably be another Heaven and Hell album out now. I like the old, Ozzy stuff but that magic is long, long gone. Ronnie could still sing all the way until the very end.

So much this. I read in some half-way decent Sabbath biography (that was pretty mch Bill and Tony talking) that a good deal of Sabbath is actually in swing time.

You read that? No offense, but it's not that hard to detect swing time. You don't need to study theory or anything....

Never really made the correlation...especially since he and Bonham came up together and the last thing you'd associate with Bonham is a deft hand at swing time. Besides, when I play bass along to some Sabbath tracks I paid more to what Tony was doing and the dexterity Geezer had to of had.

/In related news, I picked up many bad habits being practically self taught.

If it wasn't for Sharon, Ozzy would be broke or dead by now, so I'll give her credit. But now she's just being a greedy biatch. They have more money than they'll ever spend, why nickel and dime other members? It was bad enough when she had albums redone to avoid royalties. She's become her father.

Dude, Bonzo swung. All swing time is, is "the blues beat" as opposed to like straight eighth notes. Hard to describe verbally - I bet there's something on youtube demonstrating it....

This.

He remains the only drummer to have a drum kit file a restraining order against him. circa 1970 Paris show, look it up.

While I really hate that Sharon is trying to shiat on Bill Ward, I'd hate it even worse if no reunion occurred because of the shenanigans.

Original lineup Sabbath is one of the few bands that I'd pay whatever the hell they wanted to charge to go see them.

If Bill Ward can't get a good deal maybe they will have to go with Burt Ward on drums.
