The woman was just attacked. She was on fire. I don't think that she was in full control of her mental capacity at the present moment.

To me, it seems like leaving the baby near the attacker would be more dangerous.

Yeah, this comment in particular: The mother should be executed too and the baby put up for adoption for her irresponsible choice in men. These savage animals have to learn that this isn't a third world country. This kind of behavior might be acceptable in Zimbabwe but it isn't here.
