He believes pastors across the USA should speak up. Homosexual 'laws' remove Americans' Christian freedom.
This seems to be the going line all around right now from religious folks. I would really like to have someone of faith explain this one to me. Live and let live is anti-Christian? Or is it simply a matter of wanting to discriminate against gays with government support and/or complicity?
Please, enlighten me.

Technically, the Romans had never had coffee so they couldn't be against it.
On another note the first hit for "coffee" on google is Starbucks.

Yes, even though Starbucks has held progressive attitudes on a multitude of issues for years and therefore attracted a large progressive customer base, I'm sure that a few bigoted Chrisitans will be able to show them what's what by boycotting them. The coffee giant is toppled for sure. Take that, homosexual community!

When marriage equality was legalized in Connecticut, the law required that we burn down a church in each town and salt the earth with coffee grounds.
So while the Lutheran church was pretty, main street smells like a cup of coffee there's that.

These guys are theological idiots. As a Christian, it blows my mind that there are so many pastors, preachers, televangelists and the like who have such a distorted view of Christianity and who completely misunderstand the Bible. The Old Testament is not an instruction manual. The New Testaments message is not "Sinners will burn in hellfire for all eternity." Paul was writing letters to fledgling churches addressing specific issues arising in their communities 2000 years ago. He never intended his letters to be read as a literal guide to living in the 21st century. Much of this stems from practicing "soundbite Christianity" - using snippets of the scripture to justify actions or beliefs while completely leaving out the context or overriding message. It would be like taking a bunch of ten second clips of "Psycho" and making it look like a romcom. It saddens me that this is how much of our society views Christianity.

That's very true, but it's not going to change. People do that all the time. In law, statistics, politics, history, etc. etc. We pick and choose that which bolsters our position while ignoring context. Shiat, that's pretty much everyone's MO in Politics threads.

I was going to try to answer this, because back when I was a fundamentalist, I felt the same way, that it was a battle and that I had to protect Christianity from evildoers in society who would support gay baby-killing socialists...
but then I got myself edumacated, and now I know longer am able to think along those lines... so I really can't answer...

Maybe it tastes different in other parts of the country, but I don't understand the hype around Dunkin' Donuts coffee. It's just a tasteless, watered-down, warm brown liquid. I can get the same thing at any 7-11 or Gas Station.

Did you read the comments in that article? Holy shiat. I sent one out but it came back with a database error.
Hey WAFails, as to your list of companies to boycott, you list Microsoft so you obviously wrote that post on an Apple product. You know of course that according to recent surveys, Apple was named the most "gay friendly" tech companies in the world. You also forgot to list Red Lobster because according to Leviticus, eating shellfish is an abomination. So you have a lot of boycotting to do but you're going to have to express it through two cans and a string. To counter your boycott, I think I'm going to buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks and suck off some guy. And I don't even like coffee.
I was censored. So much for the Founding Fathers and what they apparently stood for.

If America is 80% christian (ha), then poisoning children with toxic waste from drilling and power plants, production of goods, and over-consumption must be what it means to be a christian. Let us not forget disregarding the poor, the hungry, and the ill as so many so-called christian politicians ensure. I guess they just figure it is a way to populate that cloud city...there are faster ways you know ;)
As for people that choose to pay for over-priced coffee to feel special, keep that feelin special fantasy going....it will help you ignore the reality of the billions of tons of waste created to wake your brain dead meat sack up.

If it was one of the older-style "mini cathedral" Lutheran churches (that look almost ornate enough to be a Catholic church) too bad.
If it was one of those newer hyper-spartan ones then good riddance.
