I don't know what a Lenore is, other than what I gathered from the clues, but that was pretty neat. I'm trying to figure out how she got the girls eyes so gigantic.

jaylectricity: I'm trying to figure out how she got the girls eyes so gigantic.

Either:

a) contact lenses, and then increase the eye size via editing software (like what was done with the Mouth of Sauron character (new window) in Return of the King), or

b) just use computer graphics entirely (there was a CGI artist listed in the credits)

At 1:39 the contacts are in the opposite eyes from the rest of the film.

I've read all the Lenore comics, but I'm not sure what to make of this. Kinda cool, I guess, but it just seemed to be more of an idea than anything else.

In the comic most of the story lines are very short, just a page or two. Maybe a Robot Chicken format would work better.

And here she is, for those that don't know:

I hate Vimeo. Ah, yes. Let me allow the whole video to load before being able to skip through it. I do so love being able to hold onto a piece of the late '90s.

Yeah, it was more like a series of references than anything coherent. Still, pretty cool.

/now where's my JTHM movie/animated series already!?

Exactly what I was thinking. I think that would make a great movie.

Yeah, definitely more cute than creepy. I mean, who doesn't like dancing at funerals?

LENORE IS SUBSTANTIALLY BETTER WRITTEN THAN JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC!!

Of the two JtHM was cool, but jeebus all the dialogue ran like a Kevin Smith film.

Also, this video, while cute, was wrong. Lenore shouldn't be quite so animated.

Also, also, sepia tones for the most part with "re-colorized" outside environments would have worked better.

Also, also, also? Also.

I think what I was trying too say is Lenore comes across as... dreamier? Lethargic, quiet, with brief bursts of activity.

I am only familiar with the poem called Lenore by Poe - but this was cool

Eee! Cute! JTHM and Lenore (and a few other random offbeat comics) pretty much got me through the last year of high school with some semblance of my sanity intact.

Boring story bro:
I have a Lenore doll hanging around in my living room, and one day I discovered that a rather large and ugly spider had taken up residence in her dress. I figured she had picked a appropriate home, so I left her alone in spite of my mild spider phobia.

It's not important. At the time I read it, it was incredible and it really changed the way I looked at and treated people in general. No Kevin Smith movie has ever done that.

I can't, for the life of me, imagine who he would get to play her.

You were probably thinking of HBC or Christina Ricci, but how about:

Meh, Dakota Fanning, her sister, or Chloe Moretz could pull it off.mooseyfate: nocturn: LENORE IS SUBSTANTIALLY BETTER WRITTEN THAN JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC!!

That's... very Hot Topic of you, dude... Congratulations. : /

And while JtHM and Kevin Smith films are good, they both would have benefitted from better editing. Although I guess removing the warts from media removes the indie charm.

That was better than I had expected. Now I want to re-read all my Lenore comics.

Did Dirge ever finish Taxidermy? Off to the Googles I go...

DeltaPunch: Next up: Squee.

Yes please!

I really only came in here to say that, I've been wanting a JTHM animated series for a while now. I'd settle for I Feel Sick.
