If you cannot see how "left leaning" Fark is then you are pretty damn blind.

Look at the politics tab right now.

How many Pro-Liberal threads are there? How many Pro-Conservative threads are there?

I would say that the submissions on Fark are whatever is trolliest, and the commenting is overwhelmingly anti-Conservative, but decidedly NOT pro-Liberal. One does not imply the other and Fark is a good example of that.

2012-02-02 11:45:39 PM
There probably are more pro-liberal comments, but that's because there are more liberals who can read and write

Depends on how trollish the mods are feeling on any given day.

Not surprisingly, an Alabama local station thinks Fark is liberal.

LOL

Yes, there are liberals here. That doesn't make the site itself liberal. Idiots.

*snort*

Fark is liberal. Right.
Obviously they haven't been here for Freeper Friday.

Obviously you have to be a leftist to think teachers should be paid well, especially if politicians can give themselves raises. Apparently believing that paying top dollar for talent (unless you're talking about teachers) is mainstream.

I did not elaborate on any specific threads or general political discussion, just the basic left/right paradigm.

You know what they say about people who "assume"...

Let's take these two statements:

According to the Times-Journal, McGill argued that paying lawmakers more made the less likely to accept bribes, but then turned around and said increasing teacher salaries would attract undesirable candidates to the profession.

and

In an interview with WAAY 31's Ellis Eskew, Senator McGill said "I don't believe you keep God out of state. Church represents the body of Christ, Christ being the head of that body. No, I don't believe in that separation,"

Do you think it takes a liberal to think this guy is an idiot?

/Christ is the head of the body of Christ...

I was responding to your post. It basically was a "both sides are bad, so vote Republican" defense.

In their heads, the world is broken into only two parts: Liberal and Conservative. If you don't see it their way then you must be liberal.

Call it derp, but it just re-affirms their bizarre world view.

"The point that I was trying to make in the speech is simply that .. Things ought to be in balance. I believe God made everything to be in balance. He weighed the Earth and the valley and the mountains and the hills on a scale to keep them in balance because he knew he was going to be spinning it real fast, so that's the jist of it."

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

"Separation of Church and state is not in the constitution." McGill said. "I don't believe we need to separate God from government. The Bible even says that one day the government will be on his shoulders, meaning Jesus Christ's shoulders, so I don't know exactly what that means, but I know that we don't need to separate the two, that we are a godly nation and a biblically based nation, so I do not support that separation."

I don't know what that means, but I'm sure it supports my beliefs!

"I'd say I've had more positive feedback than I've had negative, but it's amazing that those would claim to be Christians would give me negative feedback in regards to that, so but never the less, it's where I stand."

I will declare who is acting like a proper Christian!

Whut?

Did he say....

No farkin' way.

Well bless his heart, I hope his momma keeps an eye on him. The boy will drown in a hard rain, if she don't.

FTFA: McGill's comments have since been lambasted on message boards aimed at educators, and liberal leaning websites like Huffington Post, Think Progres and Fark.

So, first of all, they can't even spell Progress right. Second, they compared Fark to the degree of Huffington Post and Think Progress?

2012-02-03 02:21:22 AM
Think Progress and HuffPo make me all stabby, like most repuplicans do, so his argument is invalid.

Oh, Alabama...you wonder why we make fun of you...
When you, as a state, elect a guy like this.... That's why we're laughing at you.

Any site that allows liberals to speak, uncensored is considered Left Wing by the south.

Any site that has a different opinion than rich, old, white, racist is considered left by Alabamians.

Fark is a liberal website? Not while we have Fark IndependentsTM it's not!

Claiming Fark is liberal because anyone can post on its threads is silly.

I love it. Finally one of of them admits they exactly how dishonest they are.

It's Alabama. They have trouble distinguishing between literate and liberal.

They've also never read a Fark gun thread.

This guy is nuttier than a fruitcake.

How long before he's caught hiking the Appalachian trail or using the airport men's room?

I'm hoping the good people of my home county and state realize how moranic this asshole is and elect someone, anyone else next time. It will, however, not be an easy task as the right wing fundies will most likely come out en masse to re-elect him.

I wish I could say he's not representative of many of the locals' ideas, but I can't.

Similarly, teachers getting more sex at home are less likely to sex students.

Reality check:

1. This guy is a moran.

2. Fark is predominately liberal.

Move along, nothing to see here.
