It is so frustrating that a movement which started as an attempt to bring awareness to real issues of inequality has allowed itself to get so derailed.

I think my record is about 42 hours and it was probably one of the most psychologically painful experiences I've ever felt.
Headache, blurred vision, and nausea. I heard things that weren't there, completely lost my sense of time, and I was even beginning to lose my sense of self.
It was kind of cool to play video games, though. Since I was beginning to lose my sense of reality it felt more like I was part of the game.

I don't know about the rest of you Farkers, but I am getting bored with OWS and tired of hearing about them.
They showed up, they aired their grievances, those who sypmathized said so and those who did not did not. Now they are just a pain in the ass, constantly underfoot, like a houseguest who has overstayed his welcome and will not go home.

My number--one hallucination on little sleep is a big white dog, running alongside my car at 70 mph, right in the corner of my peripheral vision.
I also drove 36 hours into a bank of heavy fog once, the glare of my headlights in the fog turned into little animals which were scurrying away out of the path of my oncoming headlights-----until I saw a horse, which on closer inspection turned out to be real. Slammed on the brakes---missed him.
I pulled over and crashed after that.
\\\ Smart move.

Exactly my point. I was told last year it was a dress rehearsal; this summer it will turn violent. So far, Soros has said publicly that this is likely-------and whlke I hate him, I know he has good information.

So they're protesting the right to protest?
And giving interviews about themselves?
And tweeting their "progress?"
There are plenty of folks out there who believe that government and big business are in bed together. There are certainly those who think that the banking system failed us by greedily levering up to the sky and then needing a government bailout. And some sane folks even come out on the side that there is too much income inequality.
But these losers (meaning anyone still occupying and not doing anything positive or constructive to fix things) have their heads so far up their own asses that it takes away from the issues about which they profess to care..
I've been down to the spots in DC and NYC and cannot seem to find a single driven or logical person in the smelly bunches. The most vocal just resemble douches in college who told others how original they are and how pointless following the herd is - all while being the biggest conformists in the room.

I remember reading a story about Phil Laak (poker player). He was going for the record of most hours continuously playing poker. He got to around 110 hours and a doctor made him stop or he was going to die. Phil said he no longer felt tired, which meant his body was shutting down. Hopefully these guys figure that out before all their organs permanently go to sleep.

Oh, sleep deprivation is fun. I've done it before, it's the next best thing to doing drugs.
Day one you will pretty normal, just make sure to not eat too much (full stomach induces lethargy) and don't work out too much either, because exercise makes you more tired later. Day two you'll rub my eyes a lot and maybe slug back a few Rockstar energy drinks. Day three your conversations will take on a lucid state as you'll struggle to pay attention to what you're saying cf. 5-second memory. Day 4 you'll start complaining about how you see shadows at night and hear sound effects but you know it's just your imagination. The paranoia cannot hold it is too late. Day 5 the force of day 5 and sleep deprivation together in the same conceptual space will be like so much watery putty. You'll suspect someone is putting spiders in your shoes -- lots of pins and needles feelings in your extremities. Day 6 you will be afraid to go outside. They are always watching you, spying on you, trying to see what you're doing, you can hear them on the roof stomping around. Day 7 you will give in to Them and their blasphemous ways which doom us all to inhuman toil for the One whose Name cannot be expressed in the Basic Multilingual Plane, he comes. On ₯ay 8 you have seen the horror, the horror But we have no right to call you a murderer. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face, and you must make a friend of horror. ᾟorror and mortal terror are your friends.☻ If they are not, then they are eneⱷmies to be feared. Th◘ey are truly eneﷲmies. Well yeah....but that's on the higher average end of being able to survive without your brain shutting down after the hallucinations. On average, a person can go 3 days without rest or sleep before their body begins to shut down.

I've never done more that just over 48 hours. While I was a graduate student I was told a story of a grad student from Israel who said he was trained to go multiple days without sleep. He attempted to be awake and present for a 5 day experiment, but only made it to the fourth day.
Wiki
has the longest, scientifically documented and without stimulation, at 264 hours.

I remember on the 3rd day of not sleeping for finals that I couldn't see through the glare on my computer screen to look at the words behind.
Then there was the time I stayed awake on a 37 hour roadtrip and I swear I saw a buffalo somewhere outside Phoenix.
Do they still sell minithins? Because that's what allowed me do do both of those things. If you've ever had them, you know that this means. "Dude, I can feel my hair!"

I went about two and a half days once, constantly active. I started hearing the sound effects towards the end, imagined conversations with people who later claimed they never happened, started seeing things in my peripheral vision that weren't there, and I eventually got so irresistibly tired that the moment I lay down, I immediately conked out and slept for 18 hours straight. I don't recommend it.
