Skeptics highlight the potential side effects, but supporters say that forming a sexless union, simply for the sake of having kids, might even be better for children, given that half of all U.S. marriages end in divorce.
"The shared raising of a child between two loving, committed, and financially secure adults," as described by Monamily.
The Website says this approach "helps to solve the problem of quickie-clock-ticker marriages and resulting divorces."
sounds like that 'christian mingle' site we've been seeing ads for lately.

They'd be better served signing up for a big brothers / big sisters program instead of this nonsense. There are plenty of kids out there who need decent adult role models but don't need to be adopted.

This is pretty much the worst idea ever. I don't even have a problem with really good friends getting together to co-parent a kid. But meet someone online and then spend up to 18 years of your life legally tied to each other? Wow that's stupid. There's no way this could possibly get more stupid:
"
It would be nice if they lived in the same proximity or the same city
, whatever they agreed upon," Fatovic said. "
It could be a 50-50 arrangement or limited involvement
. It would have to be hammered out."
Holy shiat it
did
get even stupider. Is this what people without kids think it's really like? No big deal, hey we live in different cities, I'll take summer you take the school year no biggie. It's not like there's some sort of emotional attachment here whatsoever, nah, this is a business arrangement.
Through
a co-parenting contract
, the couple lays out how the child will be raised, answering questions about religion, time commitments and financial obligations.
Are you shiatting me? You think that contract will actually be legally binding? You think a judge will give a shiat when you decide you don't want to follow it anymore?
Wow. I don't even want to take this seriously anymore. Maybe I shoulda trolled the thread with a comment about gay adoption instead or something.

Men will donate sperm but want minimal to do with the child. The child will know who there are and they'll have contact but stay with the mother. The mother agrees to cover all expenses and raising of the child.

My parents cannot stand each other and divorced long ago, but at least they loved each other at one point during my conception. I can't imagine the psychological effect this would have on the kids growing up. Or perhaps they wouldn't know any better?
I would guess that these poor children will eventually conclude that they were only conceived to alleviate someone else's loneliness and not out of love, or even an accidental night of passion (drunken debauchery).
Fark these selfish pricks.

Now you too can have this season's hottest fashion accessory without any pesky "relationships" or "commitments"! All the celebs are doing it! You don't need a back up plan, just do it!
I have friends who are single parents and they'll be the first to tell you how hard it is. Why anyone would purposely do this is beyond me.

I don't see how a night of drunken debauchery resulting in an accidental pregnancy between two people who may or may not want children would result in a better adjusted than a planned, thoughtful decision made between two people who really want a child.

Due to the less-than-liberal alcohol laws here in Pennsylvania, our local strip club has an adjacent "free beer shop."
Legally, you can just go there and drink beer for free. I don't imagine you'll be looked upon nicely by the bouncers, however.
Yes, the place is out of town and nothing is near it.

So it'll be just like marriage with all the same stresses and difficulties but without the occasional sex and all the benefits that provides (like a hormone rush and stress release) plus the slight advantages financially due to tax breaks.
Why would that work out better than a marriage?
This chair is kinda wobbly and clearly poorly made. I know! I'll hack off one of the legs!

Yeah, I don't think so. I'm no law speaking guy but my experience is it's not a court order until it's actually entered into the court. Your contract is irrelevant unless you actually take it to a judge and get it approved. And that's the key. Just because you two agree on it, a judge has to approve it because someone has to represent the rights of the child.

These people are idiots. "I can't find the right man." That's cause your career was center stage in your life. You chose not to make time for finding a mate and starting a family. Trying to shortcut the process is only going to be a complete mess. And kids are not a 9-5 job. they are a 00:01 to 23:59 job(2 minute break to pee).

Not sure what subby is getting on about, but I've gone to strip clubs before just for the beer prices. We just sit around and BS while drinking cheap beer and tossing the occasional dollar onto the stage.
(clubs that serve alcohol tend to not be totally nude clubs, real strip clubs generally don't serve liquor)
