So whoever the smug douche who wrote this article is, did he actually examine the things that Obama could have done that were stopped by Congress? He's not an Emperor, he's only a President. Sure he could kill Osama with a lot of intel and a phone call instead of destroying the wrong country but....sorry. Too soon?

I think he's going to run more on a platform of "At least I'm not a rich robber baron looking to drain the entire treasury just for my personal gain"

Oh so nothing then.

Why not tout how awesome Obamacare is? Or Dodd-Frank? Or the Durbin Amendment?

Bush
Obstructionist Congress

Obama needs to highlight the GOP's war on middle class people by attacking Romney's tax plan and past behavior as a guy who has consistently worked to rig the system in his favor to the detriment of middle class and poor people.

funny how so many of the dems were running away from that during the 2010 midterms.

Well, given what he was actually able to get through despite a hostile minority party actively obstructing every little thing... I can only imagine what might actually get done in another four years.

He can run on the killed and saved platform:

- I saved over 1,200 businesses...by giving them waivers to 0bamacare!

Obama's going to win in a landslide against whoever he runs against. This strategy is not Obama running for POTUS. This strategy is Obama helping regain control of Congress for his 2nd term. That's why he's attacking Congress.

As opposed to every other president running for reelection that was an emperor and had a 100% supportive congress to work with.

Obama is unique, in that the has had the best track records at getting bills he supported passed. But I'm not sure how well that fact will jive with the spin of "don't judge me on my record since you know, republicans are mean and stuff".

I don't think many people are sympathetic to that when he had the House and Senate for the first 2 years and after he lost the House the employment picture started improving.

(not saying causality, but that would certainly be a great commercial for the GOP).

Unfortunately the GOP's definition of "Compromise" is "implement our ideas in full with no additions, subtractions or modifications".

He doesn't need to say that, he needs to say the other guy will do worse than I will do. If he feels his past record is too easily attacked with one liners like "death panels" best focus on the fact that Romney will take his magic underwear off and try to rape the middle class.

Wait until the GOP primary is done. Romney is the best head to head competition with Obama. That is until Obama starts running advertisements with quotes of what Romney actually said and believes.

"Corporations are people."
"I hardly make any money from speaking ($374,000)"
"Banks are hurting too"

Yeah, exactly. Mitt's war with Newt is doing all of Obama's work for him right now. So Obama gets to hammer on Congress instead.

If you are unemployed or underemployed, you don't have a 4 year degree (or higher) and blame Obama for your situation, then maybe you should get a college degree. It is not the Gov's fault you don't have the necessary skills to compete in today's world. The Gov can even help you pay for it (via loans, grants, GI Bill etc).

Every time someone says Obama and the Democrats had control of congress for two years, kindly point out they only had the Senate for 4 months (swearing in Franken to Brown getting sworn in, with 1 month of no Sr. Senator from MA after Kennedy died).

Don't forget anger. There is a lot of anger these days and a good portion of that anger is directed at our corporate kleptocracy the rest is pointed at congress. It's childs play to paint Rmoney as the face of corporate greed, same for Newt. Now congress has been suckered into Obama's game of rope a dope and it's only going to get worse as the election plays out. Congressional republicans in both house are going to do anything they can to make Obama look bad. It's going to backfire leaving Obama looking like the only adult in the room.....again. He had them fighting against tax cuts last month FFS.

Funny, traditional use of the words "control the senate" usually involves having a majority. To my knowledge Reid is still the Senate Majority Leader.
