That boast sounds like the kind of arrogance the Patriots engaged in before Super Bowl XLII four years ago, when they trademarked "19-0" in anticipation of completing an undefeated season with a championship win over the Giants.

I thought the writer was taking liberties with the trademark claim, but it turns out they did apply for trademarks. I figure it only makes sense, though, since some other guy had earlier tried to trademark it (a form of cybersquatting I guess).

I pray to God that people will stop praying to God about sporting events. There is a kid in [fill in name of your town] whose parents can barely afford her life sustaining medication. The next time you want to pray about a farking football game think about that kid.

The exact opposite of the last time they played. I hate all sports Boston but I can't hate Brady. He has learned, and I think they will annihilate the Giants on Sunday.

Maybe the parents should have prayed that their kid should have been a football player so they wouldn't be in that situation.

Why is this news? I get a Facebook status along these lines once a week from my friends.

Of all the teams NE has to play, it had to be the NYG. The only other team besides the Eagles I simply cannot root for. I guess that I'm rooting for the Pats, despite NE fans driving me crazy and my general preference to root for the underdog.

If Gisele gives me one hour with her in the bedroom, I'll go to Indy and pour chili pepper powder in Eli's pants uniform.

I left sports talk radio behind years ago and I'm especially thankful for it these past two weeks. But the worst of the worst is when the news anchors run their segments with reporters from the other market. They start out a train wreck and go downhill fast.

"So, the Super Bowl, think the Giants really have a chance against the mighty Patriots?"

"Well, we got the defense, we got a Manning, and we won in 2007, so we're gonna win!"

Well, I would say the Patriots _are_ the underdogs in this game. Not by much, but the Giants (on account of having a real defense along with a very serviceable if not ULTRATOPNOTCH offense like NE) are favorites.

(But what do I know, a quick check on the intertubes reports odds are T: 54 NE: -3)

Hell yeah it did ho. 4-12 to 8-8 in a season, started 1-4 before hitting the 8-8 mark, and the first playoff win since 2005.

Distracting God from curing Cancer, ending world hunger, and promoting world peace in order to win a football game sounds perfectly reasonable to me!

Priorities intact!

rumpelstiltskin: The NY media has the right to mock the Patriots, because if the Giants lose they're going to be men about it and just admit being wrong.
Either that, or they'll throw Eli under the bus. One of those two things.

Or complain about the refs giving Brady all the calls and/or the Patriots cheating, which seems to be what other teams do when the Patriots beat them...

I'm a Giants fan and I wish they'd just shut up and go about the business in the lead-up.
