I am curious if anyone was able to swim the 10 miles to the nearest shore in the rough seas. It would be difficult, but not impossible. Depends on if they know which direction the shore is (they can see the shore), the temperature of the water, the direction of the current, etc, etc.

Ugh those people. I hate to say it, but a modern cruise ship farking up is more unique than the ferry. The report on this ferry will be:

1. Aging vessel and shoddy maintenance of the vessel
2. Vessel was overloaded

Just like every pretty much every other ferry that ever sank in Oceania.
