Ric Romero: Some games are similar to each other, but not the same. These are called "genres".

Zynga will do anything to make money, no matter how morally or ethically (or legally) questionable.

is this news?

see their song went "da da da dum da da da" and my song goes "da da da dum da da da tsh" , so it's totally different

Pincus also shows reverence to video game history involving games where players build towers-"it's important to note that this category has existed since 1994 with games like Sim Tower."

The only similarity between Tiny Tower and Sim Tower is that a building is involved.

The game Zynga released is a direct rip off of Tiny Tower. Even the damn color schemes for the floor categories are the same. They tried to acquire the creators, were told no, so just duped their game.

Copying games/IP has worked wonders for Blizzard so why not Zynga?

Farmville, Mafia Wars, Bingo, Tiny Tower.... that argument tends to hold up better when it's applied to an individual instance rather than what has become a running theme....

Zynga is completely immune to bad press, they service casual gamers. They are to games what Facebook is to the web. Their customers absorb abuse and shiat money.

The tiny towers people should have taken their big payday and sold out. Too big for their britches, and now they get nothing.

Angry Birds is just Crash the Castle with a slingshot.

There. I said it.

The only thing I'd be shocked at this point, is an article saying the Zynga CEO isn't a tool in every way imaginable, or their business practices aren't highly predatory and bordering the edge of legality.

Yeah, not really a fan of Zynga. I play Words With Friends, it's fun and all, but the absolutely ridiculous amount of ads not only ensures that I don't play any of their games, or buy anything in the ads, but I would rather sit through these ridiculous ads than pay for an ad-free version of the game.

For anything related to flash or mobile OS's, the phrase "XXXX" is just "YYYY" with "ZZZZ" is applicable to everything at this point.

Pincus needs to learn when to shut up. First he told he wanted his employees to turn in their stock options "because I'm smarter than you," now this.

WTF is wrong with this guy, and why would anyone work for him?

To the same.....Word with Friends is a Scrabble knockoff....and Scrabble is available for the same price ($0.00) but without ads...well...at least the kind you can't close that get in your farking way.

Having said that, I really don't understand why more people seem to be playing Words with Friends.

Oh, come on now, HP has been trying for years to destroy themselves. It's like watching a crack whore hooked on stupid. Now, they are giving HIV infected hummers at orphanages - or something roughly similar.
