She was only speeding to avoid hop-ons.

Friend of mine pulled this off in college. Walking home from a bar, he jumped on a cherry-picker and started driving down the street, raising and lowering the boom. A campus police cruiser pulled up behind him, lights on. My buddy stopped, told the officer that he uses a cherry-picker at work. The cop wasn't sure how to deal with a drunk on a cherry-picker, and how to return the machine to where it came from; my friend offered to drive it back. Officer agreed. He drove it back. Officer told my friend to be careful, and let him go.
