I just want to say up front I'm not going for the "too cool to know such things" angle. I honestly didn't think Howard Stern still had a show.

All I see is two old men who used to be funny are now playing teenage drama games to hope for 'publicity' instead of being funny. I don't care for Leno either. But then again, who the fark bothers with late night TV nowadays? It's just expensive infomericals.

Leno and his show suck. I hope Stern makes America's Got Talent a hit and sticks to his vow not to do Leno's borefest.

Late night TV is like Saturday morning cartoons. They will always exists becuase there is always group of people to watch them.

CSB: When I had a 9-5 job I never stayed up to watch them. Then, when I got a second shift job (hours something like 3pm-midnight) and I was getting home at 1M. I would watch them becuase I was still too awake from work and there isn't a lot on TV at that time.

It is, in fact, working out great for him. I mean, you don't even like him and you can't stop talking about him.

Poison: I hope Stern makes America's Got Talent a hit and sticks to his vow not to do Leno's borefest.

It is already a hit show. The question is will it grow with him on it. If it stays where it is he will take credit. If it grows he will take credit. If ratings go down, he will take credit. No matter what he will take credit for making an established hit a "hit show". I expect it will debut large, but over the course of the season the ratings (season to season) will either be flat or will decline.

It will be interesting to see how it works though because if he is himself he will alienate the current viewers. If he tones it down his fans will call him a sellout. His fanbase is not large enough to offset losses by the "family" audience. Honestly I think even if he tones it down (which he will) his mere presence will alienate many loyal AGT fans. His fanbase introduction should offset this, but if he comes across as a watered down Howard his fans will stop watching and over-all the audience will probably go down.
