Speaking of recipes, anyone know the actual recipe for Deanie's (New Orleans style) BBQ Shrimp?

He's already done the Twinkie recipe, along with hundreds of others. We make a lot of dinners from his recipes.

Yup. People want to buy the Cheesecake Factory key lime cheesecake I make based on that book. I also make the Olive Garden salad dressing. Just had it last night.

A lot of those recipes dont' taste as close to the original as he'd like you to believe.

The two recipes of his I make regularly are the Outback Steakhouse caesar salad dressing (always have some in my fridge) and Wendy's chili. Though oddly enough I've never had the real versions of either to compare.

To that I've recently added Sabra hummus; well worth the 79¢ for the recipe. It took a while to find a store that sells citric acid but I eventually located some at an Indian cash&carry (why yes I do live in central NJ).

I tried the new Mrs. Fields recipe (the one that bakes at 290°) and they didn't come out right until the third time I made them.

I haven't eaten a Twinkie in over twenty-five years.

I guess I'll eat it tomorrow. It should still be fine.

Twinkies are vile, disgusting things. Yes, I said it.

Good DIY Twinkie recipes have been available online since the mid-80s. Poundstone published one, too, if I remember correctly.

/no, I wasn't online in the mid-80s
//not long after, but it's not a contest
///you can pretty easily make better Twinkies than Hostess does

Red Arrow Diner in Manchester NH has been making "'Dinah Fingers" their version of twinkies for years. They are pretty good. Especially the raspberry cream filled ones.

They also make some pretty good layer cakes.
