Romney runs on "White."
Obama runs on "Sane."

Who would honestly want to go into a Presidency hoping that the opposing side hate him with the fire of a thousand suns and will work night and day to stop anything and everything that you attempt to do?

Lando Lincoln: Who would honestly want to go into a Presidency hoping that the opposing side hate him with the fire of a thousand suns and will work night and day to stop anything and everything that you attempt to do?

Projection. If they think Obama is masterminding their ultimate demise as an end in and of itself, it justifies their hysteria and outrageous accusations.

Lining up the excuses already, I see...

That's stupid. Obama is human and he wants to be loved just like everybody else does.

Crap. You just caused a panic on the streets of London.

Is it possible Obama wanted the GOP to treat him like this?
No.
Is it possible Gene Lyons is batshiat insane?
Quite.

2012-02-02 01:33:30 PM
Yeah well whatever it is, it's not working.

There are still enough idiots out there who seem to think Romney is going to be a good choice to vote this administration out.

2012-02-02 01:33:56 PM
Did he want it? No
Did he anticipate it? Likely
Did he use it to his advantage? Yep

The only way Obama can get off is if someone is strangling him with legislative procedural tactics.

2012-02-02 01:35:44 PM
I think he was truly surprised to discover the GOP wasn't going to just get over it and actually govern with him. One of the reasons I voted for Clinton in the primary was because she knew how bad it might get and had dealt with such pressures before.

He has learned his jedi lesson - let's hope he gets a bit tougher next term.

There is nobody running who is capable of getting Obama out of office. Not a single one of them, and there never was, even when the debate stage looked as if a clown car had opened its doors and let them out

IMO the GOP would be just as derpy with Hillary at the helms as it would have been with Obama there. All the old accusations and conspiracy theories about Whitewater and Vince Foster and Ron Brown would be rolled out again.

QFT. So much money wasted this year in this farce of an election. We should be outraged as Americans.

It's really time to admit that we only have one viable political party in this country, and it's not the Republicans.

Agreed, but it's hard not to think that there's just a little something extra about Obama that pisses them off more than Clinton ever would have.

President Obama would have to be judged a failure.

I stopped reading after this....was there anything else of interest in there?

Now I don't know what to believe?

R-O-N-A-L-D W-I-L-S-O-N R-E-A-G-A-N FIRST US PRESIDENT WITH 6 LETTERS IN EACH NAME = 666

C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R (A=6 B=12 C=18 D=24 ,ETC) = 666

HELP ME SUPPLY-SIDE JESUS! IS IT REAGAN'S PRESIDENCY OR THE INTERNETS THAT HERALDS THE COMING OF SATAN AND HIS MINIONS?

2012-02-02 01:42:38 PM
I'm sure he'd rather the GOP play ball and actually get some shiat done.

But... failing that, let them say the most obscene/insane/nutty bullshiat possible, on the record, and have some of the best material possible for a full election year one can hope for.

I certainly am. Imagine having ten MILLION dollars to donate to Newt Gingrich's Super PAC? Ten freaking million dollars that you could just give away, and not really be affected by it? And to someone who, if he even got close to the nomination, would have so many skeletons shaken out of his closet, it'd look like a Halloween store.

Sickening.

See Republicans aren't evil, liberals force them to do these things be being nice.

I love how the right believes that any bad actions they do they can't control and is because liberals force them to act that way.

I should hope so, but wasting his birth certificate on Trump was stupid.

2012-02-02 01:46:18 PM
The GOP has managed to instill an irrational fear of socialism into half the voting population of this country.

We are now at the point where people who hate their candidates, who are routinely farked by GOP policies, and who know they are being used by the Republicans as cattle to make the top 5% wealthier and wealthier at the expense of this country will "hold their nose" and vote for Romney because OMFG SOCIALISM!!!

This country is mostly retarded now and is being run by morons...

If 0bama cared about consensus he would have listened to the recommendations of the bi-partisan debt commission.

instead, he just wants to triple down on his reckless debt accumulation.

I am fairly certain it would have been worse. I'm no big Hillary fan myself, but the derp-rage they feel towards her is pure, all-consuming, soul-chilling poison.

I'm afraid to google that.

It's real simple. After a year or so of being steadily raged at by the GOP and obstructed and confounded by their inability to put their country ahead of their party, the President finally decided to just troll the hell out of them for the next two years.

Yes, he's deliberately making comments, doing things, going places, that he knows is going make the Derp Brigade break out into hives and spastic fits of keyboard-swatting fury..

Yes, he's trolling them and he's doing a magnificent job of it.

All of that combined with the restrospective POV we got the next day. Knowing that he did all of this while orchestrating the OBL job... it's the political equivalent of a beautiful symphonic movement. (You can debate on the symphony as a whole, but that section is a piece of art)

He's also a significantly stronger debater than any of them and keeps his cool no matter what, as we saw in 2008. Gingrich absolutely would lose his temper and blow up faced with him; Romney might just be able to hold on, but his anger will show. They can barely contain it against each other.

The Presidential debates will be fascinating to watch.

I always notice during Obama's State of the Union speeches that Boehner is is actually significantly darker than the President.

Agreed. And never underestimate the power of executing the full-facial-smackdown on a helpless gimp to keep the rest of the punk-ass biatches in line. It has to be done from time to time.

Besides, the birth cert troll had run its course by then anyway.

That was not a punch. That was Obama sitting in his corner, waiting for the bell while Trump paraded outside the ring back and forth a few times, crowing about how great he is...and when Trump finally got up to get into the ring, Obama pulled a .22 and shot him right before he climbed between the ropes.

And then put it away and called for a real challenger.
