Charming.

Wow, Mitt actually gave a human response and managed to almost be funny. That's at least the best response by far to a glitter bombing, I have to give him that.

Eh, I'll take him. Romney is a basically decent person overall, I think, better to have a misguided and out-of-touch, but fundamentally decent and human guy in the debates leading up to the inevitable Obama victory than any of the other raving loons they have as potentials.

I mean, like I said, he's still going to lose and he'd be a terrible president even if he had an actual chance, but it would be nice to not be totally embarrassed to share a species with the presidential/vice-presidential candidates for once.

Lionel Mandrake: I'm all for gay rights, and all against Romney, but glitter-bombing is stupid.

This. If your response to a group of people claiming that your entire group is a bunch of assholes unworthy of respect is to do your damnedest to be a case in point, your picture is probably engraved on the ancient Sumerian tablets describing how to summon the ancient unpronounceable elder god of not helping.

Not only is it stupid, it's physical assault.

Isn't the secret service supposed to be protecting Romney now? If a moron can get a bunch of glitter past security, I'm sure a TV or movie villain could do much worse!

/Maybe pre-nomination candidates only get the SS trainees?

2012-02-02 04:20:34 AM
In what respect is Romney decent?

Honest is his views? Nope.
Consistent? Nope.
Caring? I don't see it.

He doesn't seem straight up evil, mind you, but afaict he is the embodiment of greedy capitalism. I've watched the debates, listened to his speeches. He has yet to do anything except cheer for big business profits and sleaze his way around every other issue to lose as few votes as possible.

I could assume he is a better human being than newt I guess, but only because I don't know shiat about him; no consistency on any issue other than helping out the rich.

2012-02-02 04:21:55 AM
Oh, and being against Obama in every way. Its funny watching him play/be moderate while speaking like he is a polar opposite of Obama.

Technically true, but it's "assault" in the same way that doing 36 in a 35 zone is "speeding."

It's mostly just felony-grade STUPID.

Once again, pulling stunts like this accomplishes four things.

1) It amuses people who were not going to vote for Romney under any circumstance anyway
2) It annoys people who were not going to vote for Obama under any circumstance anyway
3) It gives certain people vindication and something they can point to with a "See, I told you!" moment
4) It's going to give Romney votes, it might only be 100-200 out of millions, but it will give him votes.

... And the 'Make it about Romney because we can't make it about Obama' effort by liberals is in full swing it seems.

1-4) yes

Your conclusion: WTF does it it even mean? It was a stupid stunt by a stupid person. Why are you trying to make it something more? How the fark is anyone "making it about Romney?"

In short, I give the standard reaction to any post by you: WTF are you talking about??

He's a pathetic bitter cowardly attention whore?

And odds are random doesn't believe what he farts out here and instead supports the opposite, meaning he spends hours everyday attacking his stances in the end.

Ignore him; he's got mental problems.

Yeah, I have him on ignore, but I occasionally click "Show posts from ignored users" to see what the retards and/or uber-trolls are pulling out of their asses these days, and how many posts it takes until they suddenly go silent.

What always cracked me up about that is that a neutral "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Hollidays" is a purely capitalistic move to not alienate non-Christians. And the people who claim to be staunchly pro-capitalism get all butthurt about it, despite the fact that it harms them in no fkn way - except their pussy little egos molded by drop-out AM radio goons.

Same thing with billboards in Spanish. A buddy of mine was biatching about them and I said, "Dude, it makes perfect capitalist sense. If you want to sell a product in a neighborhood that is made up of immigrants from Mexico/Central America, then putting up a Spanish-language billboard just makes good business sense."

Unable to reconcile his professed love of capitalism and his hatred of non-English advertising, his head asploded.

Uh who's this Erickson fellow? According to this story from the local FOX affiliate his name is Espinosa and it has nothing to do with Immigration. I tend to believe this story since it's the one that was actually posted by the group that did it.

I can't hate on Romney so much because as Governor he was good. I still believe Romney are is not the best public healthcare plan but at least he tried.

Two things:
1) All you glitter-bombers... You're not helping.
2) That was a pretty funny response, which I didn't think he was capable of producing.

Imagine the outrage if someone would have thrown something at Obama when he was a candidate...

Don't Troll Me Bro!: All you glitter-bombers... You're not helping.

It's even less violent and messy than a pie in the face. I think it perfectly sums up the absurdity of bigotry against homosexuals. In all fairness, every bigot's life should be made absolutely miserable by any means necessary as a form of civil disobedience against civil rights abuse by public servants charged with upholding those rights instead of violating them , but that would be unhelpful -- and it would create a backlash.

Glitter bombing? pshaw. I think people against that are being genteel to a fault.
