Tom Tancredo is absolute scum, and an infinitely bigger embarrassment to Colorado than the 1997 Nuggets could EVER hope to be.

That like a third of the state voted for him for governor last time around is very upsetting to this native Coloradan.

I read "Colorado's biggest embarrassment since the 1997 Denver Nuggets" and thought it was about Tebow.

So there is regular santorum and santorum with nuggets. Wonderful.

I think it's time for Santorum to abort induce premature labor to his candidacy.

There's still a very real chance that Santorum could come from behind and mess things up.

Santorum is still running. Frothy and coming from behind.

2012-02-01 06:48:39 PM
The picture of Santorum at the top of the article struck me as absolutely hilarious for some reason.

Yeah... time to find a new doctor. I dislike the man for so much of the vile-ness he spews, and can even see where a karmic discussion could be had, but I can't hate on him for worrying about his daughter. I would hope he could apply the compassion he learns from taking care of her to apply to others, but I will not wish ill upon his children, it's not their fault that they came from that mess of a human.

Incompatible with life... what does that even mean coming from a doctor?

You can't swing a dead cat in Colorado without hitting a fundie evangelical on his empty motherfarkin' head. Those assholes have been indoctrinating the USAF academy for years. You are done Santorum. America can now shiat you out like the turd that you are.

Hugs and kisses

First the kid in the pickle jar, now this. Maybe God's trying to tell you something, Rick.

Like all Farkers (regardless of ideological orientation), I am hoping that his daughter pulls through and is okay.

Does anyone know what kind of health insurance Santorum has? I would hate to think that a man actively trying to prevent millions of Americans from having health insurance would use some kind of even-though-you're-not-an-elected-official-you're-still-covered policy.

Meaning the genetic defects are so severe a normal couple would have aborted.

Yes, damn their sinister plot to embarrass fat lazy white people by being hard working and industrious. They talk about it in their weird alien language, which, of course, we're all too stupid and/or ignorant to learn.

It's not actually a genetic disorder (except on the technicality that it does involve genes, albeit a lot of them rather than a few mutated or otherwise bad ones). It's a chromosomal replication disorder, like Down Syndrome. It's called "Trisomy 18," which simply means that she has three of Chromosome #18, not just two (she got two from her Mom [instead of the usual one of each chromosome] and one from her Dad [as is normal]). It afflicts far more girls than boys. It is not inherited as would be the case with what "genetic" usually means.

As with Down Syndrome, it results from a chromosomal replication error during the mother's ovulation process (meiosis, IIRC), and also as with Down Syndrome, the odds of it skyrocket as the mother ages and approaches menopause (indeed, this sort of thing is probably why we humans even have menopause, as without it we'd have a lot more children afflicted with these disorders when their mothers exceed their fourth decade and still try to reproduce [this is a major reason why Trig Palin really is much more likely to be Sarah's son than Bristol's]).

Infants born with Trisomy 18 rarely live a year, with survival of even a few weeks being unusual. That she made it to age three is pretty darn amazing, actually, though once past the first year, survival odds tend to be better.

Right now, she has pneumonia. Frequent pneumonia is a major aspect of this disorder. A single case of the common cold can kill a Trisomy 18 sufferer. Apparently, she caught a cold and it quickly turned into pneumonia.

I do not like her dad at all, but I wish nothing but the best for her.

Anal Foam must be totally ashamed if the taxpayer is covering the bill for all of the care his special needs child has received.

(I'm glad she seems to have received good health care, but Santorum wants to prevent other children from receiving the same care.)

Hey with the help of Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, and Ohio governor John Kasich, Newt could be right back into the mix. Romney is ignoring the Tea Party crowd. They have a voice and vote that needs to be represented.

Trisomy 18 is a biatch. Just by making it to age 3 she's practically, and I realize I risk setting up a joke here, in the 1% of babies with it.

I would presume it only affects more girls than boys because the boys are far more likely to be miscarried, and have a much lower life expectancy if they are born. Trisomy 18 is a biatch... but it's much more of a biatch to boys.

You know, I think the most telling thing about the Republican primaries so far is that none of these people have put forth a coherent argument as to why we should vote for them. Instead, they have focused solely on why you shouldn't vote for the other guy and should make them the winner by proxy.

Right now you have three people each saying the other two are human garbage, giving each candidate a total of 2 votes garbage to 1 vote not garbage by proxy. If any of them had any remaining sense of self respect they would drop out now and end this idiocy.

2012-02-01 10:40:19 PM
Santorum did win Iowa. Romney won New Hampshire and Florida, but Florida lost half its delegates for moving its primary. And, of course, Newtron scooped the lot in South Carolina.

IA 28 (Santorum)
NH 12 (Romney)
SC 25 (Gingrich)
FL 50 (Romney - if this is a winner take all situation)

So, Romney is ahead of everyone, but not by that much. If either Santorum or Gingrich can pick up the next state, Romney will have a really hard time carrying off the "inevitability" title.
