This. No good clients for iOS, Android, 360, PS3, or Wii. $20+ for an alpha. The Pocket Edition is $8 on the App Store, but it's just the alpha with no crafting. SurvivalCraft for WP7 is better.

They're doing the single most important thing right now: Mod API. Soon you have have as much building as you could ever want.

The only thing that I've liked in the official release is the animal breeding and the fact that sheep can regrow wool. I have no desire to play it as an RPG. For me its all mods. I've gone from building crazy monuments and sculptures to bizzare rube goldberg like harvesting, crafting and generally do something odd machines.

A translator might only work in 2 or 3 languages, so you're going to need more than one. OTOH it's an Indie game and I think people would accept Google Translate's output appearing on their screen without too much complaint.

I always loved the Minecraft trolling videos on Youtube. Especially the one set to the trolling music where the guy flooded almost every room with lava, including the room with the dogs, and broke open every single chest. That's really all the fun I could find in that game.

The "Creative" mode is WAY more powerful now and if you just want to build... you can do that.

Hell they even have a "Flat" landscape with no mobs or NPC's just for that purpose.

This has changed. Jeb is in charge now and is working on a system. It's going to be less of an API proper, more of a curated and update-driven SMP friendly thing. There were some interviews about it.

Ah okay, that sounds good. Most of the mods I want to try don't work in SMP, so that's good to hear.

Yeah, but I'm not really interested in it. I like survival mode, the challenge of having to gather all your materials, watching out for creepers, etc. I just wish they'd added all this weak RPG-ish stuff as a separate "adventure mode" like they originally talked about. I don't really like anything they've added since pistons.

This. My wife has actually blocked her game from updating once she realized what they were doing to the game. She didn't want an RPG, she wanted a game where she could build things. Skyrim is an RPG. Minecraft is a game where you build and explore. Each game does an excellent job, and they should stay in their respective realms.

Action RPGs; Zelda, Deus Ex, and co. care to disagree. I'd almost consider a single character RPG to be truer to the name because you're actually playing a specific role.

Whilst I agree that that is the generally accepted tradition, it is not required. It does mean Role Playing Game after all. Something like Second Life has no levels, classes or indeed plot yet it is most definitely an RPG.

I wasn't making a "South Park" reference when I submitted this, I was just being openly racist against "Minecraft" players because they annoy me. We should round them all up and put them on some remote island made of whatever type of block can't be dug through I don't know what that is 'cause I don't play the game maybe it has power pellets or something so we'd take them away too in any case those people are annoying.

So, yes, all people are equal, except "Minecraft" players who should be discriminated against. That's the best thing about "Minecraft", it made racism okay again.
