And pudding he stole from Limbaugh.

No. His reason is more noble. Western civilization ain't gonna save itself you know.

/and by noble, I mean insane.

Gingrich is more interested in destroying Romney than he is in winning the nomination.

2012-02-01 11:02:40 AM
His presidential campaign, on the other hand, is powered by pure, unfettered, greed.

His d*ck doesn't work anymore. He has nothing better to do.

I'm pretty sure he has the biggest ego on the planet right now, so...yeah...I'm pretty sure he'd be perfectly willing to do a brokered convention and even run third-party if it comes to that.

Go Newt! You can do it, man!

Funny. I would have guessed oral sex with women other than his wife. Huh.

Looks more like a big "screw you" to the republicans who tossed him out on his ass in the 1990s. He's a bitter bitter little fat man. He wants to make sure Romney is so beat up, that he can't beat Obama.

Fine by me

TheShavingofOccam123: Funny. I would have guessed oral sex with women other than his wife. Huh.

Well his wife is always sporting a $1500 paint job and hairdo. You can't just splatter all over that whenever you feel like it. The costs mount.

To paraphrase another campaign:

He's just your average, everyday, normal savior of Truth, Justice, and the American Way tm

Just today, [Santorum] launched an ad in Nevada and Colorado that effectively called Gingrich a socialist.

Lulz. You guys throw that insult around so much it's lost all meaning. Time to ramp up the rhetoric - I recommend calling each other Nazis. That'll get people's attention. For a while.

/Meanwhile, Obama watches, rests, and builds his war chest.

Pretty much, but less about him winning, than returning to power within the party as a Kingmaker. In the same fashion that Palin keeps dipping toes in the water, to give herself enough supporters that he can swing them towards a candidate.

Newt winning the nomination is his worst nightmare. He'd have to run against a sitting President with a base that hates him with the same passion that have for Hillary. He'd have to actually come up with real policies, as opposed to pipe dreams and bull headed opposition to programs that are already in place.

Newt would be forced to work for a living. And if there's one thing that Newt doesn't want to do, is work. His dream is living the Palin dream, only without the tacky TV show. He could retire, he and the wife could just sit on the beach already, but he wants the adulation of a crowd as he hands out laurels, and that is pretty much what he's angling for. He wants to be the male Phyllis Schafely, and if anything, he and Palin pretty much share that desire. They want credit for being, not for doing much.

"Some of these guys will go on running long after the laws of biochemistry and handicapping have gone by the boards. ... That goddam Gingrich is running on high-octane hate and he just keeps going and he's as fresh as a daisy.

And a really big head.

of the republicans left in the race the one that scares me the least is Romney. I don't think he believes half of what he says, but says it to get the vote like any politician. Don't get me wrong, I still can't stand him.

Santorum I think believes the crazy he spouts. Newt I think would launch a war if he felt insulted by someone. He's like Trump, his ego couldn't handle it.

Of the 3, Newt would be the one I'd be most concerned over launching nukes.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder[1] in which the individual is described as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity.[2] Narcissistic personality disorder is closely linked to egocentrism.

aka Newt Gingrich

I think Gingrich wants to curry favor with the disenchanted Republican base so he can be a powerbroker again. It's one thing to break out the Republican Party out of petty revenge, but to have them kowtow to him seems more his line. Such a shame that it probably won't happen and he'll be thrown to the wolves in a few short months.

The sad thing is, the Base might just flip and back Romney. It's not like any of their bullshiat 'values' are even real. They'll vote Republican because they're stupid and gullible. Newt thought he had a surefire way to get power again, and Florida showed that he's just another Flavor of the Month: Gagrich. Romney has been chosen, and now the Republican voters can fall in line. And they will.

Guntram Shatterhand: Over reach is something that Gingrich should be familiar with, but Pride can really f*ck with a bastiche...

For Gingrich, he wins in any circumstance. He either wins the Presidency and has a power trip, or loses either to Obama or Romney and can carry the banner of (his own personal brand of) conservatism for 4 years and make himself filthy rich.

RUN NEWT RUN!

Remember when Newt explained his marital infidelity was a result of overwork?

The Republican base will do whatever FOX news and the Koch TV ads tell them to do, even if is backing a guy they don't like. That's why they ARE the base, they are easily manipulated.

I agree. For all that is said about Gingrich's composure, or lack thereof, it seems Romney is also one tough question away from losing it.

Oh, you meant scares you in the sense of being bad for the country. My bad. I just think he would not be nearly as tough for Obama to beat as people think.

I can see the light from his shining sun of ego from Florida to DC.

He is the kind of megomaniac that they send James Bond to go after.

2012-02-01 01:31:04 PM
I mentioned a few days ago: by coming in second here, it becomes Gingrich's "turn" in 2016. And if he doesn't run, it's Santorum's turn by virtue of coming in third.

So not only is he messing up this race, due to Republican nominating tradition, he's screwing up the next, more winnable cycle too, the one that the 'white knight' candidates are keeping their powder dry for. They'll have to go through Newt to get the nomination.

And spite. Don't forget spite.

2012-02-01 02:59:10 PM
At least Obama won't have to waste his time campaigning this year. He should just randomly invite the press to watch him shoot hoops every couple of weeks, just to rub it in.

2012-02-01 04:01:09 PM
This is so unfair. It's not all ego. There's spite, too.
