I'm okay with this!

2012-02-01 09:54:36 AM
Of course he does.

Newt doesn't believe Romney is anything more than a shallow and transparent opportunist that would eat a live fetus on stage if he thought it would benefit his run for president.

And the scary thing is, Newt's right.

I find it odd that the "response" to the Chris Dodd bribery petition hasn't made it to FARK yet.

"Elite media?" As opposed to, say, a high school yearbook staff?

"Our opponents in the other party have been watching and they like to comfort themselves that a competitive primary will leave us divided and weak. A competitive primary does not divide us. It prepares us, and we will win."

Haha! No. Google "rope-a-dope," Newt.

I didn't say otherwise. But Romney is far more dangerous of a candidate than Newt.

I'm leaning towards something along the lines of several pounds of a dairy product...

As much as I wish otherwise, I think its over.

Mittens will pretty much run free after today, without serious primary challenges.

Yes, but you KNOW Newt's a fetus eater, he's up front about it. Romney, on the other hand, eats fetii but does it at midnight during a full moon wearing magic underwear, and claims he didn't do it. Unless he thinks it will make you vote for him. Then he claims he does eat fetii.

I always vote for honesty.

Newt would have no problem doing the same. Newt just despises Romney for having some amount of charm and positive appeal. It's a pretty pathetic amount by human standards, but compared to what little Newt can fake as a cold-blooded lizard person in a human suit, Romney is Mr. farking Rogers.

A vote for Romney is a vote for the very monied elite that destroyed the economy.

I'd give it to Huntsman.

2012-02-01 10:08:09 AM
The thing I took away from last night was that more people voted for NOT-Romney.

Romney didn't exactly walk away with some landslide victory, he got only 46% of the vote split among 4 main candidates, two of which are joke candidates at this point. Would the votes for Santorum/Paul have gone to Gingrich if they hadn't been in the race? If so it would of beat Romney right there.

And as they pointed out a lot, Romney got a ass ton of a lead from early voting, back before Gingrich surprised everyone in SC, they just assumed Romney was the only opinion and voted then and didn't wait... wasn't it something like 100,000 early votes just there?

This is how your party runs for President:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday that he's "not concerned about the very poor" because they have an "ample safety net" and he's focused instead on relieving the suffering of middle-class people hit hard by the bad economy.

No, it really won't, but they're right about one thing, though...

His choice of VP is very 'very' important if you're trying to grasp the movement of the GOP's inner workings...

Let's say he chooses a Tea Derping champion. Herman Cain or, god help us, Sarah Palin again. That would indicate that the GOP is still trying to work with the Teabagger contingent and wants to keep them in the party in the hopes of drawing their support in the general election.

Now, let's say he chooses a middle of the road moderate like Gary Johnson or, lol, Buddy Roemer. That would indicate that they've shed their most fanatical of supporters and are surging back to the center-ish right in order to battle Obama for their traditional territory(lower taxes, strong foreign policy, fiscal responsibility) that they ceded when they kept falling further and further to the right.

I'm betting on Option A happening, to be honest. I don't see them purging the Teabaggers until after they've cost the GOP another Presidential election. When it happens, though, the whole country will be better for it.

Actually, it's even worse than that. Romney outspent Newt on ads 5-1. He spent $21 per vote on ads. Let that sink in for a minute- he put up an utter tsunami of negative ads.

And he still couldn't knock out one of the worst candidates of all time.

You're right - it is an unrealistic hope - and you'd do yourself a favor if you quit fantasizing about it.

Who is Romney going to pick for a VP, that is what Newt seems to be shooting for but I think his presence would be as toxic as Palin. His best bet IMO would be Christie, the teabaggers seem to like him and he does not freak out moderates.

Or Missouri. Forget VA's 10k signatures, he couldn't manage a $1k fee and paperwork for that one.

Its not like Missouri is a primary powerhouse state but it is one of the few primaries between Florida and Super Tuesday, its surely not going to help him regain momentum when he isn't even on the ballot.

FTA: "It's early," he said. "Nothing's going to be anywhere near decided until after Super Tuesday, if then. You're going to have a lot of Southern states. We just have to see how it all shakes down."

Mr. Gingrich is not even on all ballots on Super Tuesday. In fact, he's being investigated for election fraud in connection with the Virginia ballot. Link (new window)

The Republican National Committee (RNC) decided for Romney months ago. The primaries and the debates were all bunkum to herd the Republican voters into the gallows line.

The difference being Romney has a chance to win.

Well, at least if he can stop saying things like "I'm not concerned with the very poor".

300,000 less Republican voters turned out for this primary in Florida this year than in the 2008 race.
